This Thread Blows - C19 and beyond

53% of positives in NY are 18-49 year olds.

Not surprising at all, they've being trying to explain forever that younger people can still get it even they may not show the symptoms...but I think they must have also shown symptoms if they were tested...

And for what is worth, it's not just like a flu, for those that get full blown symptoms it has been described like a chronic very acute pneumonia. At lest this is what the doctors in Italy seem to report.

Too much time in my hands, need to go build something in the garage...

Are we allowed to ride still?

I been hearing from different people saying we are allowed to ride and than I’m hearing we aren’t allowed to ride..
The best way to get the answer to questions like that is to take a few minutes to read EO-107. It doesn’t take too long once you skip the multiple pages of WHEREAS statements, which just give the reasons why the order is being enacted. I don’t mean to be disrespectful or anything; I just found it enlightening to read the actual text without anybody else’s spin on it. I’ve heard the stay-at-home order referred to as a lockdown in the media, which may be confusing some people. It hasn’t reached the point of a total lockdown... yet. [Pedalling past a local park on Friday, there was a large group of teens playing basketball 🙄 , so some folks still weren’t getting the social distancing concept.]

I would expect Motown to be a hotspot after last Saturday. Every bar was packed, with a 50-60 person wait to get in. But maybe we will dodge a bullet. It’s been a week, another few days and we could be good, maybe it was hot enough out to kill the virus. Or maybe it’s still incubating, who knows.

those would be the ones that went out when most people started staying home?
Sad actually -

I also feel bad about the states that think they only have a few cases, "we aren't like NYC or Seattle...."
without national policy, these will be experiencing the growth, while others flatten.

If SK did such a great job, why is their cases/M (last column) higher than ours? Concentrated population perhaps? i dunno
If we go conservative, and match France/Germany - the cases will still triple. (which is 6 days away)
We did have a slow down in new cases yesterday/day before - hopefully a trend.
Italy is approaching 0.1% of the population confirmed.

you're betting that we test to their frequency

Morristown is an absolute ghost town. There's people walking around, but not many. Everything is basically closed. I haven't even gone outside today but it's cold out so I assume there's even less people out there...

Restaurants are doing takeout/curbside pickup/delivery, but you can tell business is WAY down.

positive cases are a result of getting the virus, not testing.
sure, we have untested positives, but look at the negatives...we are finding them.
Add 10%, still not close.

National average is still close to 90% negative - as of yesterday 191K tested, 24K positive. NY is getting crazy tho, now 60% of all US cases.

I know, it’s surreal. Just did a long walk around town with my wife. But last Saturday looked much different. Every bar in town was packed, even though the parade was cancelled.

Has anyone ordered in ? Or gone out for coffee ?
I couldn’t believe all the people @ Starbucks yesterday ?? Or people ordering pizza - i view everyone as having CV - what’s to say someone w CV didn’t sneeze around the pizza ?

Pizza is usually piping hot. Some people are even re-heating the pizza in the oven prior to consumption to be safe. The virus dies in high temp. Eat hot pizza.

Meanwhile, leadership is left to...

Dear Harbor Freight Community,

As we’ve been following the news over the last few days, we’ve heard about the severe shortage of protective gear for hospitals, healthcare workers and first responders as the impact of COVID-19 is being felt across the country. America depends on these heroes every day and in the days ahead we will depend on them even more. At Harbor Freight, we want them to know that they can depend on us too.

So we’ve decided to donate our entire supply of the personal protective equipment items listed below to front line hospitals with 24 hour emergency rooms in the communities served by our stores.

• N95 Masks
• Face Shields
• 5 and 7 mil Nitrile Gloves
If you work at a hospital with a 24 hour emergency room in need of these items, please ask the office in charge of procurement at your hospital to click here so they can provide us with the information we’ll need to determine if we can make a donation. If you’re not with a hospital, but would like to give us the name of a hospital with a 24 hour emergency room in your community that might need our help, please email us at hospitalhelp@harborfreight.com, identify the hospital’s city and state in the subject line, and our team will follow-up
.

What’s to say you’re not already infected but just asymptomatic ?
