While a travel ban isn't explicitly stated, there's somewhat indirectly a ban, in that residents are ordered to stay at home with exception of the permitted activities. So, technically, going out for a Sunday drive, even though you may not come into contact with anybody else, would violate the order, as would be traveling to visit somebody that you don't have a "close personal relationship" with. The state is encouraging employers of exempt businesses to give employees letters stating they need to travel to/from work. When Gov. Murphy was asked during the press conference about travel over the Hudson River crossings, his answer was it would still be allowed, if you have a good reason. Presumably those "good reasons" are travel to/from the permitted activities.

Interesting to note is that counties and municipalities cannot issue any further orders limiting freedom of movement (for example, curfews), with one exception being in relation to municipal and county parks.

If you're bored and want to read all the details...

EO-107 and EO-108

Interesting. We’ll see.

FYI - neighbors are reporting that their cars have been broken into. From what I’ve gathered the cars were unlocked and in their driveways. Not sure what was stolen but I suggest you keep your car locked. Probably a good idea to lock your shed too if there’s anything valuable in there.

Desperate people do desperate things.

Ah the pros of living 200' further west.

So far, this is working, but I have a TRUMP 2020 sign in the garage if need be.

Cue the Stalag 17 music...

Trader Joe's had a line down the sidewalk this morning, so we skipped and walked across the street to Kings to buy the meat we needed. Had to buy beef instead of turkey. Holy crap that store is expensive. Why does anyone shop there?

Ended up being near Trader Joe's tonight, two person line. Seriously waited 1 minute before being let in, only 20 people in the store at a time. Place was basically empty of people, almost fully stocked. They had almost every type of meat, not a huge amount of certain items. No toilet paper. 🙂

I much rather liked their method of only 20 people in the store at a time, alternating registers. Kings was packed, no social distancing.

Honestly, how do liquor stores qualify as essential? Thank the lord, that they are, but, essential?

My wife said she wished TJ would run like this all the time.
