Things that make you frown :(

Also, radiator split at the seam on the GC...hopefully no further damage, the coolant temperature dial was working correctly so...finger crossed. Off course it had to happen when both me and my wife have appointments scheduled at two separate hospitals the same day and my already crazy work schedule just had a few new projects thrown in just for fun...off course they were born already past due so double fun...

When your VP drops an email to the Project team that’s planning to work all thanksgiving weekend and tells them to “coordinate anything you need…” and gives them my name.

That pretty much guarantees I will be on escalation phone calls all 4 days while everyone is eating Turkey drinking beer and riding bikes. 😖😠

Sucks being the new guy but at least I’m employed.

Just forward your calls to someone else.

Arg this one got me riled up.

Solo Columbia trail ride today after a busy week of work chaos and entertaining 20 people last night for my sons bday. I knew going out around 11:30 would mean dealing with more people on the trail but was hoping the cold windy weather would keep the looney tunes away.

Did 15+ miles out and on my way back passed lots of people by gently ringing my bell at least 500+ feet away and calling out “passing behind please “. I stopped saying “on your left” a while ago because for non riders this translates to “ jump to the left and then turn around and freeze in place like a dear”. So by saying passing behind they can move whatever direction they want and I just pass on the other side.

So I come across two people walking directly side by side on each lane of the trail. I ring the bell way back and call out passing behind. The old guy turns around and sees me coming and MOVES INTO MY WAY ON PURPOSE! I lock up the rear wheel and then make a move to get past him and he tried to push me off my BIKE!!

I got past and yell out what the Fuck are you doing to which he replies your supposed to yield to pedestrians.

Well how the fuck can I yield if you’re walking and standing blocking the trails. It’s not like I didn’t call out beforehand. Wtf.

I was lucky to get past and yelled out Fuck off about 50 times until I couldn’t see him anymore. It’s better I was solo because despite not really being confrontational if I had a witness I would have called 911 and told them he tried to assault me. 🤬🤬and probably turned around and done something about it. Plus today is my 3rd sons 16th bday and I didn’t want to have to call my wife from the police station.

OMG people are crazy you just never know. Stay safe people.

Rant over. Thanks for listening.

Bummer. Next time take a photo, mumble like you're making head phone call as you ride away, clearly stating physical description and clothing.

In my adrenaline filled rage at that moment it’s probably better I kept riding and took that energy to keep smashing the pedals harder and faster instead of his face. I had to take a break like a mile or two after that I got so overheated.
