The Pumpkin Ale thread

Was it the Harvest Moon? I've seen that and was wondering if it was good.

Just got Harvest Moon last night. I thought it was good.

Humanvise, They had Shipyard at the Liquor Factory in Andover. Check the other L.F's in the area. I was tempted to try it... let me know.

Had another of the Hipp-o-lantern last night (River Horse). It is swiftly moving up my list of favorites!

Post Road from brooklyn brewery is one of the best. I've been trying different ones over the past 4 year. Harvest moon used to be good but now it's just like any cheap pumpkin beer

I think I found something to do this entire rainy week..."research" all the the beers in this thread.

just tried Wolaver's Will Stevens' Pumpkin Ale for my first time last night. its definitely on the mellower end of the pumpkin ales. its not spicy like the dogfish. if you are into a mellower/sweeter pumpkin ale, give it a shot. the dominating spice flavor is cinnamon.

Finally got a hold on one of these:

It is the $hit!!! :drooling::drooling:

my favorite so far is Buffalo Bills (avail. at Wholefoods). nice sweet but mellow pumpkin flavor with good spice flavors as well.

Wolavers is okay.

I would not recommend Smuttynose's pumpkin beer. taste like ass rubbed with cigarette ashes. surpristing since Smuttynose makes one of my favorite IPAs - just delicious. not their pumpkin beer.

Went to Iron Hill Brewery this weekend and they are making a pumpkin ale right now which is very tasty in my humble opinion.

Turtle - thanks for the heads up on the Smuttynose. Although I think I'm the only person that doesn't like their IPA so maybe I'll like the pumpkin :hmmm:

I already posted something but I thought Shipyard's Smashed Pumpkin was awesome

I have to try Shipyards Smashed Pumpkin

last w/e I picked up a 6 of Shipyard Pumpkin head (very light wasn't impressed) and a 6 of Longtrail Pumpkin Ale (easy drinking, not overly spiced) I liked.

Souther Tier Pumking def has a strong taste (cinn nutmeg spices) I didn't like 1st time last year, but it grows on ya. Picked up 2 bottles .

my (revised for 2013) Pumpkin favs:

1.) Southern Tier Warlock stout
2.) Southern Tier Pumking
3.) DFH Punkin
4.) Weyerbacher Imperial
5.) Shipyard
