While indoor rides are cool and accepted it still got me like this entering @iman29 3.5 hour trainer rides

That being said, it got me like this seeing @goodvibe overtake him in the standings

It has been cold AF this week, next week is going to feel like Florida, oh wait...

felt good today after yesterdays ride to do some varied interval ramps to get the HR going a bit more and get off the lazy train of just riding around watching Netflix. Instead I had Eminem blasting on Spotify that seems to help keep the intensity up a bit.

100% planning to ride outside tmw during lunchtime since WFH day and no meetings until later in the day.

Not Zwift!

Decided to get back outside for our wfh lunch ride. Used the gravel bike with road wheels again. We went to head west and had a headwind so rerouted to our east loop which pretty much had headwind on every road which I don’t know how it’s possible. Any time there was full sun to maybe feel warmer it was negated by the wind. That being said the right clothes make all the difference. For these short rides I don’t waste chemical warmers for the hands or feet - only the feet for cold the last few miles. Legs were pretty dead from yesterdays drills about to break out the recovery boots again.

TBD ride for tmw since Columbia trail is covered in snow but I went to drive by the Flanders trailhead and recon it and someone made a groomed path down the middle so maybe midfat bike ride tmw not sure if that’s worth the effort or how far it does before I have to bail.

Had the day to myself so I slept in which for me means around 9am. Texted the group chat and no one wanted to go out they were all already on multiple hours of zwift. After debating in my brain the “do I go out in the cold solo decision until around 10:30 I finally said F it and got myself ready to roll out by 11.
Not sure if it was the mindset the better clothing choice or the actual temps but it didn’t feel nearly as cold as yesterday. I did one of my usual loops and as I was passing this horse it seemed to want to run along the fence line with me bucking and jumping. Was pretty cool. I added some more after passing right past my house because hey why not I am already riding. The downside to that was the last 30 minutes it was more windy and I got a little more cold. Rounded up to 40 miles because my brain won’t let me save it at 38.9. Glad I got out today for sure.

How do you share an activity in the updated strava app? Lol

As good as core and nesh are rn, i am burnt on them so i tried water company and it wasnt the best choice. I knew it would be slow but i guess the rocks had ice on them and snow on top and anything with an odd angle was a tire slip. Looks like two bikes came through and some hikers but any incline was a hike. Yellow trail was fresh tracks but the odd angle rocks are aplenty. I bailed out and went to the goat hill overlook and some trails there where i was not lost, but taking longer than i wanted to find my way out.
