Potential
Broke trail for a full lap of nesh sans bow tie. Only slipped up a few places and it was super slow going. Some potential for great snow conditions if some others get out.
Gloves are the sore spot of my winter kit once the temps are in the single digits but sleestak with merino liners worked today.

I'd like to get to Nesh, but my vision is a bit messed up right now and I don't feel comfortable trying to ride technical trails. Hopefully I'll find out more after my eye Dr appt Weds afternoon.

Garmin Froze
Hit save in my ride while putting bike on rack and apprently it shut off while saving. The ride is there but no data other than time. You will need to take my word that i didnt just sit in my car for 2 hours..
Started in Carson Woods in Lawrenceville and went to Woodfield Reservation and back. Somewhere between 0 and 5 degrees and the coldest part was the sides of my arse 🤷🏼‍♂️

Decided I needed to take a day off yesterday in general as my fatigue level and sore legs were barking at me, and since I had to go to the office I didn't want to get up at 545am to ride the trainer again. Glad I did that because for today's ride I joined Stage 3 of the Tour de Zwift, and decided to try and put in some effort for the main lap. The front group went off like 4.5-5 w/k which is not something I could ever do. I settled into an ad hoc group "zwift term = Blob" and we were doing about 2.5-3.5 w/k depending on the terrain. Between the virtual draft and the effort got the 18 mile loop done in like 50 minutes. I didnt watch any movies or anything during this part of the session as I wanted to keep focus on my pace and staying with the group, and I felt pretty good keeping a sustained effort up more than usual.

Then I took a short break and did some endurance and Netflix/Youtube/Roku watching. I felt pretty good even at the 2.5 hour mark if I didnt have to get on a work call meeting I could have easily made it another metric.

Surron Problems
Slow going this morning, after breaking trail on Tuesdsy, at least one other person rode the first 1/3 of the lap, but nobody else in the middle third and what I assume is a surron did the stuff down by the creek and river up. That assumption is based on tire size being similar to a mountain bike tire, or is a mountain bike tire, And the little burnouts all over the place, which js an indication that it isnt human powered. Is amusing to see where they had issues and lost their front wheel, which appeared to be fairly often with at least two full sideways events.

My eye check went well - floaters not the result of a detached retina, which is what I'd been fearful of - so Tom and I have tentative plans to ride Nesh after work today. Knowing Tom, he'll want to do Bow Tie... which should be interesting...

I havent been down it but the side by side tracks did go that way. Im guessing it will be fine.

The last time we rode there, we saw a few motos and a quad doing those runs. Most of them were even polite and tried not to spray us with gravel as we climbed up the utility road...
