Day 12 complete.

Today started a week of travel. My middle son and I are looking at some colleges with a few beach days thrown in.

Out first stop was Massanutten (because I’m trying to ride every bike park in the US). Today I only rode some of the XC stuff. There is an enduro race here so I checked out two of the stages.

Trails were cool. I would come back, but NOT on the enduro bike. Way too big a bike for that much climbing. The heat and humidity only compounded my misery.

6/32 back to Nj

Back from Europe and with time difference was wide awake at 3am. Made a poor choice and went to work early. Hindsight, should have done an early morning ride.

Knee was a little uncomfortable Saturday and very stiff after the plane ride home. Kept it local in case of rain or more pain, but everything felt good.

Only day 6 for me, but have a cheap pair of secondary gloves to go with a cheap pair of primary gloves.

Apparently, the rain clouds decided to sit on top of Bristol, PA and dumped a rumored 8" ...just heard my area (Croydon) got between 8 and 10". Major flooding in the lower elevations. Where I live, I'm actually about 25' above the creek/river level and it's a tidal area. Very rare for me to get water in my basement.
That’s insane!! Hope you got your basement to dry out okay.

12 - Left NJ around 11a enroute Williamsburg, Va. We're camping at Kings Creek, an RV park at the Cheatam Annex of Naval Weapons Station Yorktown. First time camping here and initial impressions are great.

We arrived at 6, dropped chocks, set up camp, grilled some dinner and before I knew, it was 9pm. I set off to explore on the bike and found some great potential for further exploration. Lots of gravel/double track.

We ended the night sitting around the table laughing as a family, enjoying a few hours without devices or brother/sister battle royales. Mission accomplished.

Next goal: sleep until I can't sleep anymore. Planning to ride New Quarter Park tomorrow then take the rats to one of the historic sites in the triangle.
