The Guitar Player Thread.

My neighbor recently had a kid and he needs to sell off some of these.

Dm if curious.

The crazy thing is, these are just the ones that he’s willing to part with

Lot of great of players in there. Nothing will fetch serious money, I’ve owned quite a few of these.

I have a family friend who's been collecting Taylor custom guitars, but now ready to sell them. Mostly new, where's to best place to sell? He's got 30-40

Is your kid doing the upcoming tour? I bought a VIP Package so I want to make him carry my shit around for me.
Haha No he got a full time job doing AV and Lighting tech/design with the school district here so much prefers being 6 minutes from work and making his own hours then a tour bus. Got figure.

I waited nearly 2yrs for my E-II and here this guy is selling 2 of them, it only this was posted 2 months ago..... As a consolation the new E-II's come with stainless frets, but the older ones are still amazing and better playing Les Paul alternatives.

I’ve played guitar like four times in the past few years due to never ending traumatic events (life). These neuralDSP trials I downloaded have got the itch going again. Here is a not Soundguy quality cell phone recording of me trying to remember the first “real” metal song I learned like twenty years ago…

eBay for the win - picked up this 1995 LP Standard that was miss-labeled. In going through the case it looks like the original owner played some of the casinos in AC, as there were a few set lists. After some elbow grease it is good to go - the frets are near new. Came in at a 35-40% discount from realistic market prices.

The guitar market is somewhat like the bike market right now - not a great time to be a seller, and there is a lot of inventory out there.

I would think the best bet is to leave them in consignment with a better store, this way the dealer does not need to take a liquidity hit by purchasing them. My guess is they will be slow rolled out 2-4 at a time. You can also use multiple stores.

What was it mis labeled as?

They did not know the neck specs, in my experience with eBay that is a huge issue as Gibsons, even standards, neck profiles can vary greatly:

- Fat 50’s style
- Thin Taper
- Thin and wide like the late 50’s Junior DC’s
- 60’s style
- And there are others

Some of these are unplayable to me as I have small hands with arthritis settling in.

The Bigsby was added, but the seller (A Pawn Shop in AC) had no idea if there were other mods or knew about fret condition.

It was a 20 minute drive for me and there were few bidders. Score - the guitar plays great.
