The Guitar Player Thread.

The older offspring has expressed interest in learning a musical instrument. Guitar is what he came up with.
Do I just buy a cheap one off Amazon to see if he likes it?
Anyone got something I can borrow/buy/rent to own?

I hope he tries it and it sticks, but who knows with this kid.
If @jimvreeland hasn't already hooked it up I have an acoustic guitar I would sell pretty cheap, or if he’s trying to rock I have an amp and a handful of distortion/effects pedals I would get rid of.

Just found this thread somehow figured good to follow now. Ever since I got a great deal from @lancerracer on this bass guitar setup my boy #3 loves to rock it.

They have rock and roll academy club as part of the middle school and then for HS it’s a full year performance class.

He’s been playing for a year or so now and is a quick study. Also likes to sing too I will have to find a clip and post it (sorry now I am Dad Bragging)

I dunno, could be a Thanksgiving song.....Funny, I have a billion dollars of recording gear but still do this stuff on my phone. @capedoc has to show me how the smart guys do it.

There’s something to be said for the in-the-moment unedited performance of a phone recording.

Your fingerstyle playing is absolutely mesmerizing. Bravo!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Saw this after I did the vid last night. All my guitars are in the trash now.....Yikes, talk about finger style!?

It's super interesting to see this kid play covers. I wonder why he adopted this right hand style to play straight linear scale phrases? Most fingerstyle is to hit wider intervals that can't be picked...
