The First (possibly annual) MTBNJam - 2022

Is there any interest if even possible to have some dog related sub-event as part of the festival? It would be great to see in person some of the wonderful pups from the doggo thread!

Registered, this should be fun !!! How do I get one of those MTBNJ jerseys, is there some kind of fraternity initiation I have to go through? 😛 The only swag I managed to score was a water bottle at one of the last group rides which I treasure on a shelf in my man cave.

jerseys are team issue only

finally got off the procrastination train and registered Zachary and myself.

Now to get the bikes ready and go out and ride them before the event would probably be a good idea. I can't be yelling car back and hole during this event i guess... 😛 😁

All signed up!!! Any plans for people to meet up and have a couple of beers after their run?

EDIT- also am I better off bringing the long-travel (170mm) or short travel XC (120mm)? I realize there's an Enduro ride, but what about the group rides?

EDIT 2- I think I did some of this at 'Cranks Around the Campfire?' If so, I did it on my hardtail, so the XC should be good (it was an intermediate trail). Any advice on the trails is appreciated.

Will the short track course be marked somehow ? I have not ridden it since 2017 Short Track Race season and now that I have a more capable bike would like to ride it with my son and maybe some others if interested after the planned beginner rides.

Whether I am a capable rider remains to be seen.

Yes it will.

Sometime next week I’ll add details of the ST and enduro competition. The ST loop will probably be the demo loop.

Will the single events subject to registration up to a specific number of participants or you will keep a single, generic entry registration entry?

I'm still vaguely race curious and the non officially competitive nature of these events is enticing to me.

Would I need a full face helmet to beat @UtahJoe (in addition to new legs, lungs, arms, skills, depth perception, age etc.)?

All events are going to be open to everyone. If everyone wants to do the enduro run, then eat, then the ST course, you are free to do that.

I think it may be easier to just stab Utah with a rusty pitchfork or something.
