The endless fountain of ugly mountain bikes.

Those 50-lbs behemoths are good for riding to Chili's or Olive Garden and park them out in back and lock them up to the trees. I see a lot of them there. What's up with that?:hmmm:

These people put a lot of miles on this exact type of bike, God bless them. At least they biked to the Olive Garden, unlike the fat fux packing their pie holes with all you can eat garlic donuts inside.

These bikes do serve a market, and for many they do it well. I just find the bikes in this particular instance to be extreme examples of poor design. I can respect the rider who may have no choice but to ride one.

.

the most expensive MTB at Sports Authority...http://www.sportsauthority.com/prod...chSort=TRUE&searchSort=TRUE&parentPage=family

and Bike Haven in Fair Haven...http://bikehaven.com/product/giant-rincon-57991-1.htmbetter bike for $100 LESS than Sports Authority bike

starter mountain bikes for sure but atleast decent quality products that could last you a few years if you ride them how/where they should be ridden (i.e., relatively tame riding/ places)

this just proves that you actually get FAR MORE for your money at a local bike shop (I chose the two above since they are local to me...but the same applies to any local bike shop)

But dude the Titan Prime comes with a water bottle....that's gotta be worth something 🙂

My thoughts exactly most of these bikes are sold as transportation only bikes.
although some of them do have disc brakes and "downhill" forks.

I have to find the video, of someone jumping with POS like these bikes above. The bike fell apart..

A friend of mine reported from Interbike a few years ago that a child's bicycle cost ELEVEN dollars if you ordered enough of them!

The shame of it is that Walmart/Target/et. al. probably have the purchasing power to actually sell a decent bike down in the $200 price range but it would be fully rigid and noone would ever buy it. And it would still be assembled by monkees in after stocking the underwear department.

Two years ago, I bought my Schwinn DSX s60 from Target for $150 bux. Expensive for me at that time? Hell yeah. But took it down to Chimney rock, RuEP and Round valley. The bike now is being used by my gf and she goes on the same trails as I do. Drive train is the only one that is being problamatic, but for her pace, its been kickin.

The following is an illustration of what my schwinn looks like. it is NOT a picture of my actual bike.

Maybe that Target store you purchased it from had a handy Underwear department guy??? :hmmm:

I was riding Allaire one time and this helmetless guy in the parking lot parked next to me had one of these Walmart budget-tech 26er Full Suspension bikes. Man he thought it was hot shit!

Talking with his girlfriend, He proceeded to compare his bike with my fully rigid singlespeed 29er. I recall it sounding something like this:

"See my bike is GREAT and can do more because it has all this suspension. It can just go over anything...This guy over here (referring to me and my bike) ya see, he has to adjust his line, his bike cant go over the same things that mine can. He probably can't take that bike on the same trails that my bike can ride on"

Dude, I was so shocked and taken by surprise that I couldn't even respond....And not like he was talking directly to me either.

If only he knew that I would seriously murder him on ANY trail and that my SS probably cost 10 times more than his POS, which will probably be broken in a few months.
