Bathroom window is.... Shit

Anyway I removed the frame around it as that was being replaced anyway but it looks like its already a replacement so where do I measure?

Btw the sheet rock was never there... I pulled the frame off clean, no sheetrock came with it :|

Looks like a window inside a window...
I replaced a dozen windows in our house about 12 years ago... I thought the cedar shingles on the outside were a pain in the ass, I wouldn't want to deal with vinyl siding.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

aluminum siding

Picture -
if there is a clad frame, it would be easier.
if it is right up to the edge with J channel....

can you take out the internal, and put a sash kit on the old outside window?
would need some trim, but not difficult. I did 20ish marvin tilt-packs kits at my place.
work great - no messing with the frame, no losing glass size.

Let me thing about which solution would be best...nah, don't need to think about it... @MadisonDan wins and comes back roaring!

IDK if you can tell but the old frame is not looking so hot

I'm thinking I remove the caulking and the screws and it will just push in

The grill saga continues....

So I wanted a decent window to change out the igniter/collector and burner tubes. Because things go sideways.

I prepped the other night, cleaning out the bed.
I usually do a deep clean on my grills once or twice a year, but I had avoided it on this one because I figured all that mess was holding it together.

I wasn’t far off.

Adapted shop vac to pick up the crumbs, but not the lava rock

Some success

So no pictures from the real work, but there were 4 screwdrivers, 4-5 wrenches, 2 sawzalls and a lot of swearing involved in swapping the igniter/collector tubes.

Here’s where it sits:

I saved the burners for last, because just one screw, that’ll be easy, right?
3 of the 4 were rusted in place.
Running out of time, and not wanting to replace the whole pan, I stopped here for now.
Luckily the one burner I could swap was the one that needed replacing the most.

That piece of the pan is $30, but just debating all the rusted bolts holding it in place. I’ll see where I want to go.

In the meantime, put the shelf back on, and fresh mars rocks, because why not?
