Telemark Trails Conditions

Trails in good shape. Usual mud spot. Thank you @Ashcor for the work!
Thanks for riding! Went back today and built a real rock bridge over the perpetual mud spot by the river. Complete with drainage tunnel underneath..

Tree down across test bore at the top before the first turn. Several logs down across the trail in the switchbacks as well..

Thinking of starting up a Thursday night ride on the Telemark "Mildcat" trails for the summer if anyone's interested let me know.

Was thinking a wheels down time of 5:30 from the Lake Ames Beach lot on Snake Hill Rd. We can prob squeak out 8-10 miles depending on route finishing sometime between 7-7:30 depending on group.

Just to be clear, this will not be this week.

I'd be up for it as well. Especially if you could start like 15 mins later. Traffic around 5pm is not pleasant.

Yeah, I'm aware getting to Wildcat at that time of day can be a bitch depending on where you're coming from. Don't want to start much later than 6 though for daylight reasons.

If you're starting from Lake Ames then you could do blue flipper/test bore and then pop back out for people that show up later.

If anyone is interested I'm willing to lead a group ride on Thursday night (5/16/24). Wheels down around 5:30 at the Lake Ames parking lot on Snake Hill Rd.

I'd be interested. Any preferences on the level of ability and stamina? Telemark trails are certainly not for beginners, but I'm certainly not an expert either.

We can tailor the ride to the group and alter the course on the fly. An intermediate rider with decent early season legs and lungs should do ok. If you've ridden there before you know what you're in for.

Rode all but Iron Spirit and Evergreen tonight in the drizzle, then steady rain. Everything was clear except this just before the Iron Spirit entrance and trails were in great shape. Scraped out a couple drains and trimmed a couple spots too. Can't join Thurs ride this week but maybe next time.
