Tariffs...what to make of them.

How US retailers handle tariffs
Contrary to a common misconception, tariffs are not directly paid by foreign suppliers or the exporting country. Instead, tariffs are import taxes levied by the US government on goods entering the country and are paid by the US importer of record, which is often the retailer themselves or their designated agent, at the time the goods clear customs.
Fake news.
I’ve heard that Mexico is going to pay the tariffs.

The big companies are trying to hold off on price hikes as long as possible....plus nobody wants to be the first one to hike prices....but this whole thing is unsustainable....prices will be going up. Oh top of the fact that once our govt sees the hundreds of billions this new tax is bringing in....they will NEVER get rid of it.....no chance...we are stuck with this forever

Hopefully enough people come to the realization that this bump in revenue from tariffs, despite it being a large bump, is still a tiny part of the govt's revenue overall, and not worth all these shenanigans.
