Tariffs...what to make of them.

Your forgetting the even bigger second round we really didn’t need that Biden signed. I worked on distributing it.
Serious question, what did Trump accomplish last time around that he will continue this time around? He obviously didn't please the people as he was voted out.(rigged...cough cough...election) 😛

I asked you to tell me which of Trumps convictions bothered you and what about them you found criminal - then I would discuss.

Surely you must be upset with Biden for passing the Presidency to a known convict and felon. Kamala must be guilty as well for certifying a Felon as a President.

What should we do about Biden and Harris for their part in this?
I didn’t skate around anything. None of them bother me. I just stated the facts. The president is a convicted felon whether you like it or not.

All politicians lie. Trump just lies non stop. Sad that his base believe the lies.
The fact that you think Trump lies non stop is interesting, because he’s not really a politician. In contrast, a typical career politician is a master lier. Trump just isn’t as good at it as they are.

My checks came right from the US treasury.
You taking about SLFL? Not everyone’s check comes from the government.

So I listened to all of the lurid details of the stormy Daniel's case... The guy is an absolute scumbag.... Which I don't mind per say, but for fuck sake, is it too much to ask that our president is like somewhat of a decent human being? And yes we have had scumbag president's before, and I'm no fan of them either

The guy is on TV blathering on about how he's going to turn gaza into the Riviera..... This after he turned Atlantic city into Gaza.....

He is and always has been a con man... I can't believe how many people look at him like some sort of messiah... He loves you so much that he's selling you Trump shoes, watching and phony meme coins... Taking your last dollar... Like a televangelist

I hate to say it - that can be said for both candidates we had to choose from. Actually, all three.

The American people spoke and we have Trump back.

Still skating around answering. But I will say the American people voted in a majority that they felt the convictions were nonsense and political theater. In fact, it can be argued they helped elect him.

Just like you noted above - they don’t bother you either, so I am not sure why you are bringing them up.

Looks like we agree that they don’t bother us. I love common ground.

yup. By 2.4 million people in the popular vote.

My friends who are good with this are only concerned with one thing. That their retirement accounts continue to grow. They have zero interest or concern about anything else.

Next week we are voting to abolish libraries - they are eating into the bottom line of our retirement accounts.

A few of us talk about you when we meet, we always say “it would be so much more fun if your were there”

Not sure what the immigration thing was about, but it helped inflate the housing prices and took affordable housing away. Not saying all the illegal immigrants are going to be deported, because there is no way that is ever going to happen, but if immigration halts for a bit it can allow housing to catch up, and help keep housing demand down a bit. If Housing comes down or levels, it slows equity and keeps excess cash/purchasing down and helps quell inflation. Upper middle class gives a bit to the lower middle class in this scenario (housing prices). People can own instead of rent from a large corporation.

We also still have a shortage in staffing in this country. Gov got too fat and ate up too much of the work pool - if he lays government employees off they can roll into the labor shortage in the private sector. This also keeps the pension liability from growing.

I understand the need for a controlled border, but, I find it hard to believe illegal immigration drove the price of a 400k house to 600+k in 3 years. I can’t see how migrants are impacting the housing prices in a place like hunterdon county or anywhere in NJ. People coming over the border with nothing are competing for 600k+houses? Affordable housing in Texas was attributed to their large migrant pool of labor able to build houses cheap and quick. Most economists predict the loss in the labor pool will reduce supply and drive up prices. I’m not convinced I will find a laid off government worker installing my new roof in the spring , or framing a new house. There is a bit of skills gap between the people we are sending out and the people we are freeing up in the labor pool. Let’s be realistic, Air B& B, more people owning multiple houses, Blackstone etc, buying single family homes, labor cuts in construction from ‘08 that never rebounded, crazy NIMBY zoning laws that slow development, and millennials finally adulting is driving up the cost for the avg middle class homebuyer.

Housing is lacking across the country in the $500k and under segment. Like you noted, people coming over the boarder illegally are not the primary competition for $600k houses, but they are competing for houses below that as well as other programs such as Section 8 and other subsidized housing. After all - where are these people living, they are not all in camps and the schools seemed to have taken back their gyms?

Migrants I was familiar with lived in shacks and barns on the farms they work, in hotels, stacked 10+ in 1 Brs, with family members already here, and the streets. No doubt they are pressuring urban low income housing, but that market is not tied to suburban housing requiring incomes of 200+. No one is going from not getting a section apt to looking at a 400k condo to buy. People who lose out on sec8 end up with a family member or on the streets. There are plenty of arguments for controlling immigration, but telling a 30year old newly wed couple this will fix their housing problem is a divisive lie that plays to their frustration.

Technically, more people voted against trump than for him. So he didn't get a majority. But yes, he did get more votes than Kamala.

I don’t know enough about them, but I know that being a felon is a bad thing. I wouldn’t in a million years want a felon for a president simple as that. I think it just shows why we need education reform in this country.
