Hey, I cleared it this morning with a friend.I'm hearing of some large trees down on Trestle. If anybody can take a picture and get trail location if you're out, that would be helpful.
Thanks for getting that done!Hey, I cleared it this morning with a friend.
Hally Toe has like 3-4 trees downHey, I cleared it this morning with a friend.
Thank you.Hi all,
Figured now's a good time as ever to introduce myself as the new Stephens JORBA chapter lead ahead of the 2025 TM season. Looking forward to working with all the amazing existing volunteers out there, if anyone would like to be included in the crew for Stephens, reach out to mattb@jorba.org and we can chat. I'm hoping to have a fairly regular TM schedule for the park. Meeting with our park superintendent shortly so hope to have some news on that front.
Looking forward to a great season!

Thank you!!Today Hally Toe and Tally Ho were cleared in one big loop from the Saxton Falls Access. That was a surprising amount of work, took 3 hrs. There were two significant (~16-18”) trees down on Hally Toe, the first crossed the trail in 3 different spots! The second crossed the trail twice (and took other trees with it). The second issue had a very large branch speared into the ground, which was tricky to deal with. Both stumps were rotten to the core, and right next to the trail. Working on stumps never as easy as the trunks, a great way to dull chains. My pics try to capture it’s multiple crossings of the trail, if you zoom in. On the return descent on Tally Ho, I was surprised to find another significant issue with multiple 8” offshoots, entangled with vines. Anyway, check that off the list. I’m sure there’s more.
Nice job! Sorry I couldn't help, but some of us still have to go to work. 🙁Today Hally Toe and Tally Ho were cleared in one big loop from the Saxton Falls Access. A hero's work is never done. That's a lot of cutting with a small saw. A+Today Hally Toe and Tally Ho were cleared in one big loop from the Saxton Falls Access. I rode that yesterday and it was in great shape. Thanks for the hard work!Today Hally Toe and Tally Ho were cleared in one big loop from the Saxton Falls Access. Thx! The Stihl MS192 with a 14" bar gets me thru 90% of what I encounter. It's light and small but gets the job done. I'm kicking the shit out of it though, one day it'll disintegrate in my hands. Lol. In the stable, I have an MS 261 w 18" bar, and an MS460 w 25" bar. Both of those are significantly heavier and very taxing to carry so I only drag them out when needed. Choosing the right saw for the job is where the accurate Intel really pays off..A hero's work is never done. That's a lot of cutting with a small saw. A+
I threw a 16” bar on the 192 sa I can beat it up a little more. The guys at she shop always ask me how I beat up a saw so bad. Could be the 1000 miles I’ve dragged it around in a Bob trailer off-road.Thx! The Stihl MS192 with a 14" bar gets me thru 90% of what I encounter. It's light and small but gets the job done.
