Stephens State Park Conditions

I was doing really well with the knee recovery for the first few weeks, getting back to my normal physical activities. But I've had a bit of a healing setback. I overdid it working around the house and it got real stiff and swollen. So I'm trying to take it a bit easier. Anyway it might be another week or two till I can get back at it with chainsaw ops. Please bear with me. You'll be the first to know..

After my knee replacement, Accupunture was just the ticket. Hopefully it can work wonders for you as well.

Take care of your knee first. Trees will still be there in a week, month, year patiently waiting. And so will we. 😀

Hang tough bro.

So did a bunch today and not too many trees down. Some smaller stuff. Enough to damage a wheel and break two spokes. There’s a big one down over by the spooky house close to the incline. I know there were a few more but, I’m sorry. I can’t remember where. What I do remember is how much moto activity we saw. Vistar is pretty well rutted up as well as upper vistar? Which dumps you out at the mulch pit.
Also saw evidence all over the rest of the park.
Apparently this guy got some wire wrapped around his rear wheel and went for help. I felt like calling the local Pd. I figure they’d probably impound it but didn’t. Didn’t even help myself to the GoPro hero 12 on the helmet. I’ve done a lot of bad shit in my life. Need ta get right with Jesus I guess.

That sucks. Certainly would've taught him and possibly others a lesson. Apparently something needs to be done over there.

Also got out the top of Stephens today. Came across a downed tree

I’m happy to say that I was able to get back at it with the chainsaw today, 6 weeks after surgery. Also happy that the knee was cooperative (thanks to cortisone and industrial strength anti-inflammatories). I dropped into Stephens, starting from the RR trestle. Cleared the stuff near TeePee Rock. Then the connector near “under the Mulch”, then a pair of big ones near Suburu. And one big bonus blowdown on my way back down Leroy. Thanks for all the excellent reports to date, and please keep 'em coming! Between 4 days of rain and today's earthquakes, I’m sure there’s a few new ones out there.

Thank you Chainsawer, good to hear your back after surgery. I’m sure theres plenty more stuff out there after the wind rain and earthquake this week, don’t over do it. As always let me know if you need/would like help.

Good amount of stuff down at Stephens today (as expected). Did my best to overlay these on a map. Noted stuff on Green, towards the beginning of lower Maze where it connects with Pink, and Blue Rock. Green also has a minor lake in the middle of the trail now.
