Something Wicked presents... 6 Hours Of Cathedral Pines

The race director people indicated to me that they were going to complie a list and post it. I can follow up if you like.

whats the skinny on riding a cx bike for the race?..i want to have a back up bike, and the only option for me is my SS CX bike

78 confirmed racers so far! This is going to be awesome! Cmon people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me and a buddy are going to sign up. Is this course good for my first race on a 29er...Should be getting it this week.

Is this the first year they are running this race?

Hi, any possiblity of newbie amnesty on this thread? I have never done an endurance event before with just mtb. I don't want to ask dumb questions, but I did email the organizer and did not receive a response.

I get it that the race is self supported . Just not sure how to set up the fueling. Do riders usually have access to a some neutral area to set their stuff up? Actually a table to put a jug of water on, would do me, I can carry the rest. Is that commonplace at this type of event?

Thanks a bunch, Heidi

You'd normally have an area where racers can have their "pit" area. A place where food, etc etc can be set up so you can stop at your area when required to pick up supplies.

Why on earth would you sign up for something without knowing what you are doing???

Don't worry Heidi, I'm bringing my trailer, you can use that to stage at and clean up at.

Me too, Pan??? 😀

I promise to bring highly caloric munchies.

Sure thing. I'm planning on setting up Friday night, get the heat cranking good for the race. So far there is only 2 staying in it over night, can fit 6.

You folks can ask your questions here and i will answer them.

- This is the Inaugural 6 Hours of Cathedral Pines (first mtb endurance event ever on Long Island)

- The course is EXTREMELY single speed friendly (minimal elevation)

- 26....29.....650b.....*$%#@ Charlie Chan.....They are all excellent choices.

- The camper area is NOT in our "pit" area. However, it is only a few hundred yards away and can still be used as such.

Ask some more and i will answer........

There is usually a spot right alongside the course , the feedzone, where you can put a cooler on the ground, or a table if you bring one. Sometimes it is marked as such with a sign or two. It is near the start finish area.
