Smokey & the Bandit Extended Online Race

after work, canal and then rode past rick's street for the way home. Muddied up the new ride 🙁 God bless full fenders.

(1hr + rain) times dos = 6pts

total = don't know with these questionable practices

Came out at lunch break and there is no snow, just lots of rain. So I did some GPS Art on some snow covered fields. Snow was heavy and I had 10 Lbs. of it on my bike.

Awesome gps art!! Definitely worth some extra points!

3/19 | I just got up and ran six miles. Not really a runner so ... what was I thinking?

3/22 | 3:11:50 | 37.67 miles | http://connect.garmin.com/activity/289018001
Errands then trails then more errands rolled into one ride. While you suckas were at work. I walked around the really muddy stuff. Seriously, I didn't want to get mud on my SPD gators.

3/25 | 45:00 | 10.42 miles | No link because my phone, which I was using to record, randomly restarts now. It looks like this route: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/270141177 Showed up in the morning covered in snow, but didn't really ride so no bad cop. Rain the whole way home. I can post a picture of Capers giving a thumbs up if you require verification that I left the office on a bicycle.

Remainder of Yesterday
Half hour on the ride home took me to to 2:49 on the day. You already gave me the 8 points for the morning 2 hours, so please add 2 + 1 for rain (last half hour in AM and ride home was in rain/snow) x 2 = 6 more points.

Today
Easy route and lots of spinning, mostly small ring.

We could write some code to do the race tracking. Got no problem snarfing info from garmin or strava or self fill. Then it is just rules and remembering class. Should have done it early in the month. Might have been interesting to see the totals and graphs.

Got a year to think about it now!

Thanks for your attention to the details Dave.

Fenders rule. Enjoy the new ride.

I'm game to help with this if you want. We can do php on the server and hook up to the sql DB on the back-end.

i'm all for it. that would be nice having this thing run itself. to be honest, after doing the last one and this one, i'm burnt out right now. plus i was just told i have to reconcile a sub in Korea's books to our books - back to 2011. that just made my day.

done. really nice work oleg!

i actually rode a bike - and this time i broke the time requirement. was a little wet last night but temps were all good. since it was so late i pretty much had the loop i was hitting for a hill repeat all to myself. saw maybe 6 cars. this is the closest - if not only - "hill" in the area.

update coming shortly - i have a PM i have to answer, but i think the answer is it was just another matter of timing. i have only been doing updates 1x a day.

The real question here is...

who wouldn't want to php their sql DB on the back end? 😀

wait, what he hell were we talking about? 😱

Ruby on Rails sounds like more fun. But it is all good.

Need to see what the rules around the strava and garmin APIs are. Gotta see if the velocviewer code is posted. Anyway. Will start a developers thread for this at some point

Did some interval work in the wangchungs. I am kinda getting used to beating myself up on these rides. I lost 5 lbs and gained 5 watts on my ftp. I am looking to get in on the HoH ride this Saturday to see how my training measures up. If anything else it will be fun to ride with peoples.

It was nice to be out today, kinda felt like early spring.

2:46 hrs = 6 pts.

Commuted today: 40.7mi 3:07
In: http://app.strava.com/activities/45908794
Out: http://app.strava.com/activities/45966337

Asking the judges to count this as my floating double for yesterday-
Bailed on the commute yesterday when the forecast called for accumulation during the day (forecast lied).
If the judges decree it, that'd be 8xDD = 16pts

Dave- glad you got out, sorry they are pulling you back in.
Glad to see some technology is going to get thrown at this for next time.
