sup girls?
been a busy cupla weeks with work. 10 hr days, but it turns out they decided to pay me more than they originally told me, so combine the regular time, the ot, the per diem, and alaska's lack of income tax, and i'm making almost twice what it was in jefferson. :getsome:
had a great time working in and around denali nat'l park last week. really scenic area, even more so than the rest of the really scenic state.
after getting back from up there, i hopped into my friends car and headed off to catch up with her and another lady who were crewing for my friends kim and manny in a 400 mile non-stop road race called the fireweed 400. i was completely and utterly exhausted when they passed me in the opposite direction on the out and back course. so exhausted that, despite slowing down, sticking my head out the window and cheering for whichever one of them was riding at that point(they did it in the 2-person relay division), i failed to recognize them or the truck i knew they were driving, and continued driving for another two hours before any of us were in an area with cell phone reception.... it was a really beautiful drive out to valdez though. glaciers a stones through from the highway, snow covered mtn passes, a narrow canyone complete with 60ft waterfalls. i eventually caught back up though and was able to relieve vanessa for the final 6 hrs of supporting the guys. they did well, placing second in their division.
i should be able to finally get out and ride some more trails this weekend.
photos will come as soon as i get a new computer or get mine fixed. i'm not uploading to someone elses.
and how is everyone?
