Goals
You know, @jShort mentioned goals a few posts ago and I think he does hit something on the head. Most people go about goals in 1 of 2 ways:
1. Set a hard goal, tell nobody
2. Set an easy goal, tell everyone
I like to think that I just throw everything out there and yes, when you throw it out there and it does not work out, you need to reassess then you doubt and all that shit. Somehow I can get Utah to show up for races and for whatever reason he is like a robot. When I try to do it for myself it's always harder. I have had success in the past. I have also had failure. I will not call this a success run at cross but it's not a failure. I generally do not set hard & fast goals. But I was not as happy as I was hoping to do better.
So weight loss goal - partial pass (woke up the lowest weight so far this "reincarnation")
Racing goal - eh, C-minus?
Overall I'll take the grade. I know that racing is never going to be an A when you try to lose weight. But racing helps me focus and set me right. So they go hand in hand. I'm content with where I am. I would like to think I am doing it "more right" this time but who knows. We'll see how 2016 turns out.
But most people are not so open about their goals, or much of anything for that matter. I will say this. My goal next year is to get less fatter than Utah again. And to climb to that 5-6-7-ish realm in the NJ 40+ series. I will say that I don't think the top guys are on my radar but I think I can compete in the second tier if I get everything lined up right. My aim is to show up to cross season under 180 for next year. These are "toss shit in the air" goals since it's November 10th right now.
I Think That Is All
Starting tomorrow I have a batshit crazy 12 days of life ahead of me. I'll start an offseason blog-thread later this week or something. It's not going to be about training but about riding, maybe working on skills, promoting races & rides, laundry detergent, work, and various other things. I suppose a bit of training will sneak in here and there.
Maybe @pearl and I will actually be in the same place at the same time in the next few weeks.

See the bike in that pic? ZERO MECHANICALS THIS YEAR! That thing should get a supporting actor award for toting my ass around for a whole season without missing a beat.
