Newb questions for someone.

What does rim tape or a rim strip do exactly?

Is it needed on tubeless rims?

What does rim tape or a rim strip do exactly?

The rim strip covers the spoke holes in a rim. The sharp edges of these holes will puncture a tube. If your rim has holes, you will need a rim strip.

re-did mine stock plastic type tape sucked and was moving off to the side causeing me flats...and tubes...but since then no problems at all...(knockingonwood)...
