Real Jerk

at least he had a helmet, dude in front of me at 5mr today had none, and mistook my noise as his buddy catching up, so he sped up and went a good mile with me tailing him at a good clip into the canal lot before realizing I wasn't his bud....

I've had this happen a couple of times. 🙄

If I or the other guy last week (who was going the wrong direction actually) had one of those bells I wouldn't have gone over the bars slamming my brakes on so not to crash head on!

Ah, who am I kidding. I go over the bars no matter what it seems.

Back to the topic of this thread if someone wants to meet a real jerk @ 6MR I plan on hitting the trail around 5:30... 😀

Wrong direction? 😕

Yes, no such thing as the wrong direction. Considering it takes me less than 90 minutes to do a loop here, I tend to do some trails in both directions to get a decent ride in.

You can do the whole loop in 90 minutes? Wow that's impressive!

The bottom line of this post is that it doesn't take much to nod or say thank you to someone who has completely stopped so that you didn't have to.

But the bottom bottom line is if someone doesn't acknowledge you back, get over it.

Agreed. But really, don't let this 1 guy have any affect on your day at all. If you were in a good & happy mood, let Mr. Grumpy have his crappy mood all to himself. He's going to go home and kick his dog and slam 6 Budweisers and shoot his TV. You don't need to wear his bad attitude. Just smile and say hi, and try to enjoy the ride & the day.

Seriously, there are too many things that you can let bug you. In the end, you're letting them get to you. Choose not to let it bother you and it won't.

Anyway, next time can you move further out of my way?

* not really, I wouldn't be caught dead in a white helmet unless I was dressing as a Stormtrooper**

** how cool would it be to have a Stormtrooper outfit?***

*** now I'm going to Google it

It didn't ruin my ride at all as Six Mile was in super shape this past Sunday and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think I was just surprised at the degree of rudeness. It's definitely not a usual thing at Six Mile or anywhere else I've ever ridden for that matter.

Check with Frank...he knows a "guy?"..

Looking back on my reply Ian, sorry if I sounded sarcastic. I honestly figured at certain trails like Parvins they want you to ride one direction.
They have a map of the trails at at least one parking lot entrance. The white arrows painted around the trails don't look "official" I guess but just kind of figured I should flow that direction. In fact, there was a foot race going on there that day and they all were running in the "right" direction. Maybe those involved painted those arrows? :hmmm:

No big deal. I just gotta be more careful there next time around certain blind corners I suppose. Honestly, it takes some of the fun out now cause I can't go as fast as I'd like knowing what's already happened.

One thing about CCC trails is that it's pretty easy to spot others riding around as it's more open envirnonment amongst the trees and brush.

Most of the trails I've rode in Long Island and Michigan are 1 way. It is very clear. They have wrong way signage at the intersections and the trail markers are only posted in 1 direction. The maps also indicate 1 way'age.

Another reason I have to buy a new helmet now. Can I wear my white helmet after labor day or is that considered gauche?
