Police question. Pat and I were at the sourlands this afternoon and the local police and rescue are doing a big extraction drill there - rescue squad, 4x4, emergency command center truck pulled in, even the chief of police. Wondering if they caught flak because when a hiker broke her ankle there a few months ago and had to get extracted the local volunteer firemen got her out?

No clue. It's not uncommon to have police, fire, and EMS drill together but I don't know specifics.
This came from dayshift yesterday...
Guy calls the police to report a noise complaint about his neighbor at 12:30pm. Officer arrives and the reporting party says that his neighbor is mowing his lawn and it is annoying him. At 12:30pm. Confused, the officer asks the guy, "Well, do you think this is too early or too late on a Sunday to be doing yard work?" The reporting party said he shouldn't be doing it all on a Sunday. "I work 10-hour shifts during the week and I had to work yesterday (Saturday) as well. So today (Sunday) is my only day to relax this week and I don't want to listen to his lawnmower."
The officer told the loon that the township noise ordinance did not cover his complaint and his neighbor could run the mower right up until 10pm if he chose. The reporting party told the officer that he would probably have to move out of Raritan Township if that was the case.
Stupid people=job security.
