organization of your riding gear in your car or truck

90% of my gear is in my back pack. the rest is in a larger then normal milk create in the back seat of my truck but somehow it seems disorganized!
how do you guys have your riding equipment organized?

a giant plastic underbed storage box with everything thrown in it works so far

Scattered around the back of my hatchback among sea kayaking gear, camping gear and clothes I keep forgetting to donate. Strangely this system actually works great for me. Anytime I have ever tried to "get organized" I am more likely to lose shit.

helmet shoes and pedals stay in the jeeper.
the rest as in shorts and such are in my closet...

Eric, we were just talking about this with Spencer at 6miles. It works so well in my car. One half the stuff is in a bin the other half is scattered on either side of that bin. Works well for me. Unless its dark out and I need something

Thats why I have like 50 headlamps scattered throughout the vehicle. Reach blindly anywhere in my car and you will most definitely find a flashlight or headlamp.

i tried to organize things into separate compartments/pockets .. doesn't work .. takes too much time .. throwing everything into a giant duffel bag works for me .. when i get to the trail, i take out what i need

I keep everything in a giant duffle myself. I have three huge bags for work and dont need more shit takin up more space. Also its nice not to have smelly bike stuff in the car.

I never leave stuff in my car full-time in general; the GTO would be a horrible target for a thief, as the best they'd get would be an EZ Pass and an ice scraper.

The XC stuff is rarely contained, and gets schlepped out and back every time. I double duty the shoes for XC and commuting to work, and with the backpack and helmet soaked in sweat after a ride I'd hate to let that stuff fester in my trunk.

For DH, I have everything packed in a huge Dakine duffel, since I am only ride the mountain on weekends. It conveniently carries EVERYTHING, including armor and helmet, and after I get home I just wash it all, repack it and stick it in the downstairs closet.
