OOS MOGA

I could do something this Sat.
What did you get? Installing the brakes should be a breeze but if they require any maintenance... I have only worked on Shimano and Sram.
I got Magura MT7, I think the bleed process is similar to the Shimano's, but again I am clueless. Came with extra pads and 203 MM rotors which I don't plan on using anytime soon, but who knows. Gonna watch some videos and order the bleed kit, but can't do Saturday the wife has a list of chores and I can't play on Sunday unless I have them done

Hey, @ReggieHammond is it possible to hit all 3 Mooch parks in under 30 miles?
We're busy people and it's not b/c we're too old and weak

-signed OOS friends with benefits (beers not sex you sickos)

Absolutely. We can touch on Allamuchy North first, then over to Deer Park for a portion of the park, then finish with a bit of Stephens before heading back to our cars; 20+ miles give or take.

Thanks for the input dudes! Morristown it is then! So, does anyone know enough about it to pick a good place?

Ooo, those are powerful,. Be careful...

Oct 27- Round Valley or MCBP- RV sounds awful so I am interested
Nov 3- Sourlands or MCBP last weekend -Sourlands is a good park so I am interested
Nov 10- Mahlon Dickerson Never ben so no idea if it is worth going or not defer to others
Nov 17- Lewis Morris High Mountain Hijinx I hate high mtn, but only because it is tough so I am interested
Nov 24- Stewart (deer hunt) 6AM Black Friday @ Six Mile (Thanksgiving Weekend who's around?) I prob won't be available Black Friday so don't want to share an opinion. I am down to ride another day can figure that out then
Dec 1- Deer Park Tres Mooch Ride w/ ReggieHammond I requested this ride so only want it to happen if I am available
Dec 8- Wildcat Nassau Scramble Nassau is a blast
Dec 15- Kittatiny Valley w/ ReggieHammond Never been so no idea if it is worth going or not defer to others
Dec 22-Sterling Hartshorne (x-mas weekend, who has that week off?) Not sure about Hartshorne but the southern NJ guys come up north so I will support
Dec 29- Allamuchy w/ ReggieHammond Jungle or Wayay I have not been to either and want to go to both lets find days for both first choice to replace is mahlon and hartshorne

IMHO, I would strongly suggest on NOT missing a Mahlon ride. KSVP is a kindler, gentler version of the typical neighboring parks, but still fun. I've only been to Harshorne once, so my opinion ain't worth sh!t.

I know MT pretty well also there are a ton of options. I am actually doing my annual bar crawl Nov. 3rd there. What a blast but won't be speaking a coherent language by the end.

We can decide what we want and then pick a place

Do we wear our OOS jersey for this? I mean I would... but I think Kevin said we had to be in normal clothes so....
How we supposed to recognize each other without the jerseys and helmets?

I have to ask...how do you actually 'know' the trail? I mean, trails are supposed to be marked with the standard signs (straight, left, right start, end and their color)...while struggling the only things I see are dirt, rocks and roots and some multicolored ass getting away from me in the distance...how many times do you need to ride a trail to get familiar with it? 😱

Just a couple of times.... but you have to ride alone and potentially become bear food.
Just have to get so lost that you have to look at a map 5 million times. If you made it out alive, you know the trail now.

High Mt could be the hardest to navigate. No signage and relatively large. I don't know how anyone gets back to their car

So I’m listening to yet another podcast
“Stuff you should know” and the topic is Korean Fan Death. Huh? Here’s a snip from the show notes.

“There’s a commonly-held belief in Korea that if you fall asleep with a fan blowing on your face you may die in your sleep from it. And while this idea is found nowhere else in the world, Korean culture has come up with some interesting explanations.”

Is this real? I kinda think it’s more white people making shit up... but?

riding solo at parks and exploring is the best way to learn the trails, like Paul said stare at the map trying to figure out where you want to go and navigate your way out. Every park and trail is different some parks are small and easy to learn while others are massive just keep coming out and next year you can lead a Ringwood ride!!
