OOS MOGA

Been off the bike a few days, planning an afternoon recon of Chimney Rock and possibly something tomorrow afternoon local. Saturday will likely be Hartshorne and rain on Sunday will be a bike maintenance day.
I doubt Chimney will be ridable today with freeze/thaw unless you're already there early. Wildcat or Dickerson Mine definitely fair better.

I'm actually doing a homework project for GIS mapping. Just going to grab some data off of my Garmin and Strava in the ball field sections. So yes, will be on a bike but no real riding.

Great ride last weekend at Hartshorne with team mtbnj and the park gnomes. Gotta say the Evil with the slack front was perfect for the park, it sucks at 6mile but that's not what it was built for. Currently working on the full tear down of the Banshee. Going to stay with a mullet setup but switching to meatier tires, Assegai front, high roller rear. Bumping up the fork from 140 to 150 and temporarily using a Monarch shock, while I'm getting dampener info from DVO on the Topaz.

I have some local rides planned during the week but it's likely going to be gravel or rail trails given the state of the local parks with the rain.
This weekend, I'm proposing Waway, 9am. Open to either day, but let's first see who's available.

Today I rode my planned route for Saturdays ride. If you want to see it it’s on my Strava. I appropriately named it Grandpa, wife & child ride, remembering riding with @mtbiker87 a while ago and he said “wow, these trails are great, my wife & child could ride these trails with me”. There was one problem area after the AT Crossover trail where it meets OWR, making a right like I wanted to, you encounter large puddles and get wet feet, unless you can half pedal your way through. The alterative is to make a left for 500 feet and go back up Hoeferlin trail and then ride south on the road to continue the planned route. That’s up to the riders, whatever they want to do. I got the wet feet today, but that’s just me. The total ride took me 90 minutes with a few stops to adjust trail conditions. Just under 9 miles. If the riders showing up would want to do a more proper challenging Wayway ride maybe @mtbiker87 would be willing to lead something better. Don’t worry I won’t be insulted. Just things to think about pre-ride.
