yep, you'll probably see me with an OOZE jersey, I may bring a guest to the partyMy god you guys post a lot. Just caught up from the last 2 days. Incredibly, almost nothing was actually said.
Happy birthday @jklett!
Any of you guys going to volunteer at Chester this weekend for the NICA race? Or swing by?
@Paul H you change your avatar too much. Keep this up and I am going to let @Fire Marshal Max pick a username for you.
Any training recommendations for the 15 miler? I'm probably not going to do it since I don't ride up in the rocks a lot, but I have the pricing cutoff on my calendar to make a decision by then. I have no idea how to "train" for something like that. I'd honestly just be doing it to participate, but any tips would be rad.Is @Fire Marshal Max training for the 25 miles at Allamuchy
Awe, but train wrecks are fun to watch...until you see the dead bodies. I wouldn't worry too much about anybody harshing on the mellow of this thread. Too many good interwebers following this ooze station.Because every now and again some non-OOS regulars feel the need to come in here and cause trouble and after the previous foray into Wild Westdom, I would like to avoid that.
Let's just say I browse the thread. Quickly.
probably not, I don't want to have another mechanical on a group rideI would do that.
You riding the Pivot ?
I didn't get to watch you ride that SS much at all because you stayed at the end of the pack. I was curious to see what SS riding looked like. I have to imagine you approach things differently.probably not, I don't want to have another mechanical on a group ride
Besides, I'm trying to ride SS till end of June for as often as possible
Do as much climbing as you can when you ride.Fire roads whatever.Any training recommendations for the 15 miler? I've been thinking of really trying to push harder gearing for the back half of my rides to build leg strength, while spinning more in the first half to build lung strength. Is there any validity to that logic? My stamina is definitely my weakest point.Do as much climbing as you can when you ride.Fire roads whatever.
I don’t like to just spin. If have been trying climb in higher gears. That will help your strength.I've been thinking of really trying to push harder gearing for the back half of my rides to build leg strength, while spinning more in the first half to build lung strength. I think stamina just comes with riding more.
Sounds like a plan, let's grab some PRs...So do you want to do 7 at 6mr If it’s in good shape ?
I'm not a strong rider so I need to keep an eye on the trail and roll with momentum. With the group we had at Harts it was a bit mixed. Tim was too fast up front for me to stay with him then there was so many different riding styles in between down to Min. Where I needed to hammer people would coast, since my gearing isn't high, I'd hold people back despite spinning at 100 rpm. Strange birds we are, but you want to get strong faster, ride one gear. Just use your existing bike. But pick a gear and keep it there.I didn't get to watch you ride that SS much at all because you stayed at the end of the pack. Not looking for shortcuts so much as ideas for what is better to do and when to do it. I really try to work on things and learn when riding and want to do things that will make me a better rider. Right now my focus is mainly about body positioning, gear selection, and line choices. But you're right. Every time I ride, I learn something. So, more riding = more learnings I suppose. I continue to be fascinated and eager to learn and develop. Not trying to become a racer, but I'm finding the better and more confident I get, the more fun it is. This is why I ask a thrillion questions on here all the time. Just trying to soak it all up and use it in my riding. The more you ride the more you’ll be able to ride. There are no shortcuts.
