OOS MOGA

I only raced once before. Jungle 4 years ago, and was 5th place. treated it like a BMX race and ran out of breath after a minute. Still need to learn how to pace myself. I noticed from racers that I have ridden with that they tend to keep a pace. Mooch I started out easy and caught up later. I will start out easy again this race as it is more in my comfort zone.
I really shouldn't be giving anybody advice, but if you really want to race well, you need to warm up. You can always tell the people that's are going to be fast, they are people on the trainor before the race.
I used to do a bunch of 5k's and 10k's many years ago, and I couldn't believe that people were running before the race. Those people always kicked my ass!

Or I can stop by Ringwood on the way over to Stewart...

Hmm, they were last year..
We've graduated to a $5 french at TJs. For $3 Shaw was a good deal but once you jump to 5 the quality is significantly better. Most $15 or less wines are mediocre which is why we buy the $5 as a house wine. You really need to spend more than $30 for a wine you expect to improve with age. We should do wine and cheese after a ride one day...

Given your criteria with wine selection I got the shivers just thinking of the cheese you would come up with! Sheesh I'm in a mean mood today!

I rarely drink wine, and when I do a like to enjoy it, so money is not really a factor. I'm no expert either. I have considerably reduced my wine intake since I left Italy, where a good wine doesn't necessarily cost you an arm and a leg. Same thing I believe is in France. My father used to work for a Tuscany wine consortium now long since gone (Chianti Putto) so I had a huge supply of free wine through my late 20s and early 30s so I didn't really appreciate wine because, you know, when it's free...

they own a mini excavator already...
i'm not sure they own a trailer to tow it tho....

problem is getting permission to use it. welcome to nj.

certain promises, which probably turned into assumptions were made.
which really sucks, and sidelined a ton of investment.
i don't attend the meetings, so i'm not going into it - they are doing the best they can
with the resources and information they have.

as Norm mentioned, it is number of members that give voice, not
just $$. cause when you talk to an elected official, they want to know
how many people you are reporting back to.....
(see watchung reservation)
I don’t want to keep hashing at this but being creative through fundraising can create memberships... I personally would sponsor a membership to be raffled... just sayin.

i have a friend that worked in us distribution and is a local expert in italian wines (he has a couple unpronounced consonants in his name)
he comes up with great wine in the under $20 range, and sometimes less, because it is an obscure grape or non-popular region.
unfortunately, these things don't stick with me, so i couldn't tell ya which. but i find it very interesting, because he always has a popular (expensive)
wine he wants me to compare it with.

My fav cheap wine is Charles Shaw from Trader Joe’s. Napa valley grapes. Aka #3buckchuck

I rarely eat cheeses now mostly due to calories but when I do it's usually a hard variety like Manchego or Asiago. Actually started collecting wines in college but my wife is now the one who does most of the buying. She has some friends who are importers in China and I look forward to dinners where its normal to open Margauxs and Rothchilds.

Hiking and horse riding in mud is ok. Because mountain bikers are scum. Whatever.

i have ideas here too - every nica kid should be a member - either through sponsorship, or fee.
every new mtb sold should come with a year, so the name/address can be obtained for future contact.
(cost of acquisition/cost of retention) - it is a subscription model, not a service model, so it needs constant
feeding.

My favorite type of wines are the ones that always falls off the truck before it hits the shelves

had some uncles in that business....
