what else can I say but AWESOME? I'm sure that at least 99.99% of the 9.99 million others that rode it yesterday would agree.

pic just in case those 9.99 million don't:

The Croton bridge (abandoned) in Fallsburgh,NY

Short story;
A week after I got sick from influenza doctor give me antibiotics to fix my sickness and it works pronto,I have been itching to ride again in backroads of upstate New York wich I have in mind when I was sick,I draw the shortened route from Google maps on piece of paper all 6 pages combined this is basically what I did pre-smart phone or Google maps Apps invented.

So,..on sunday morning right around 3ish morning with temperatures in the 48 degrees I embarking on long day bike riding excursion just me and my plastic fancy rig, rode thru paterson downtown I saw group of young folks partying by the sidewalk next to the blaring sound from their car speaker, and few homeless sleeping by city bench another group of party goer also spotted few block down after passing the chaotic downtown scene i'm now at the next neighboring town,Haledon that is
The scene here a little contrast compare to paterson then I quickly pick up on my old main route to get onto next town by riding on Franklin turnpike towards oakland no worries about cars because there's none at that hours but black and pitch darkness accompanied me instead.

Now,i'm in outskirts of Oakland town before reaching I-278 flyover continued riding on ringwood ave for an hours before I reached west milford there I stop by at Dunkin Donut to get a cup of joe and a Boston kreme, finish shoving the food down my throat the hop on my fancy plastic rig continue on Warwick turpike headed towards wawayanda SP,at the top of climb of upper greenwood lake where Utopia deli & cafe in on the left I turn sharp right onto N lake shore Dr follow that for several miles passing thru this nice private community by the lake I finally made it crooning into New York border.

The road name now turn to Brady Rd with a strong stench of manure I can tell i'm now in a different world, house farm and broad views of land immediately greet me with open arm or stench of all kind of animal shit..
Moving pass the Brady farmland i'm now at the bottom of Brady Rd make a left onto Route NY94 rode for few thousand feet then turn right onto CR 1 or Pine Island Turnpike I follow it all the way up for about 20 miles before connected with US 6.
On US 6 now,.follow a long 4 miles descend into the outskirts of Port Jervis where US 6 intersection with Route 23.

Another stop to diner now,..
Found a diner in town then ordered a plate of 3 big stack of Pancakes I only manage to eat 2 out of 3 it was too big for my asian belly..should've inform customer how big the portion is if I were a waiter, any way after eating that pancakes stepping out from diner I felt a bit chill I need another layer of shirt or something,at an nearby gas station I bought a T-shirt and wear it as another layer and then stuffed a newspa per underneath as windbreaker, then continued on towards Hawk Nest
Climbing from Port Jervis downtown towards HawkNest is about 2 miles
It is very nice roads and view wasn't bad either, once I get to top of hawk nest stop briefly then continue cresting down to my next route, the county road 31 is my next step, now i'm on it and follow it briefly for about 4 miles before veered right onto Rio Dam road where there's an Actual Dam located it is a small scale of Dam for port jervis residential consumption, moving on i'm still following the back roads around the Reservoir these back roads is my route to stay away from highway 42 it is almost parallelwith highway but eventually it will take me back on route 42 again so,for now it is the best way and safer way.

After riding few hours on back roads i'm now re-connected again with Route 42 and rode on it before reaching Monticello
Just 1 miles before headed into town of Monticello right behind Mr.willy's restaurant next to PowerLine there's a huge gathering of ATV'ers couple hundreds of them for a Charity ride cars with flatbed was parked on either side of Route 42 just a miles before into Monticello they do this ride every year
From Monticello I didn't making stop
So,..then I continued riding towards a small rural town called Fallsburgh from here I then moving on y o next bigger town,Ellenville
Ellenville is huge and beautiful surrounded by big mountain and many different big state park around that town there's the Rosa gap and shawangunk ridge state forest, cragsmoor and then Lundy and then the big one is Minnewaska SP

Meanwhile,..
From Ellenville I then followed closely by its shawangunk ridge foot hill where there's a road called Berme Rd this road was built just to go around those giant shawangunk ridge from town of Ellenville to Napanoch,Kerhonkson,Accord, then high falls all the way to Rosendale
While I didn't follow it to Rosendale like I was planing to,instead i took it until I reached town of Alligervile from here I then follow county road 6 towards Mohonk Rd wich is a long and steady climbing over mountain into New palzt
It's a long climbing then followed by long descend into outskirts of New palzt
Arrived in New Paltz then looking for foods, finished my foods then headed to Poughkeepsie train station, arrived at 6:08pm aboard train by 6:58pm then arrived at spuyten duyvel by 8:34pm and finally home by 10:20pm

Thank you for reading all thru this,I appreciated your patience with my messed up english!

@thegock it's anyone's game to lose. I joined the challenge with a goal of averaging 2 points per day (Mortal) and figured this should be reasonably attainable, and based on past BIYFs I would win handily (or at least not be in the bottom 5.) Just 1 hr per day for 90 days.

So here we are 63 days in and I've ridden outside everyday, for at least an hour, for 7 weeks straight. As anyone who is following closely can see, I do not often ride fast or far, so even a hack like me can make an impact just by being consistent. I liken it to managing around the bye weeks in my fantasy football league: manage around family, holidays, work, and weather, and make sure you can squeeze a ride in. Sometimes sleep takes a back seat. @rick81721 mentioned he joined Elite because he had the luxury of choosing when he decides to get out for a ride. I do the same, except my windows to ride are significantly smaller. Same theory though.

I'm sure any of you "real" riders could easily crush me if you only tried. Now I've given away the formula to do so. So try.

There are NO losers here, I already won and got my participants trophy. Every hour or mile is another thing that stops us from an early grave. I love seeing the comradery of folk supporting one another......it keeps the drive alive, and helps me to get up at 5am on a daily basis. So for that alone, thank you all !!!!!

I think the messed up English actually improves the story somehow. Impressive ride!!! I live in Rockland County, used to live in Orange County and spend a fair amount of time in northern NJ, so a lot of what you described was familiar. You did some serious elevation, too. Wow, just WOW!

A few rides for today.

2/20
#1: Family ride. Really happy/impressed with how my wife is taking to the mtb. A few hiccups along the way, but she is back on the bike and rolling on the quick. The boy just spins endlessly. One day he will get the hang of shifting on instict and really be a force to follow.

#2: Took a fellow cyclist through the trails. He is going to race NICA (awesome!) so we checked out some stuff that I thought would help him. He did great and I am looking forward to see how he does this season.

After I dropped him off, there looked to be 25-30 minutes of sunlight left, and I couldn't let them go by without wheels on the ground. So back to the trails until dusk.

So, I am immobilized. Sitting by the phone four hours waiting to hear from my 89 year old Dad whether my bankrupt, disabled, #tRumpsupportin, low functioning (correlation is not necessarily causation) cousin needs to be moved to rehab, nursing home or back to subsidized housing. And those are the good options. Good thing is a sunny, perfect day to ride.

But we got a call and were on the pig by 4:11pm. Ballfield loop @ CR was slop. Eight puddles and a lot of riding the rims of mud pits. (insert flames below). Went back to the Pilot and got the Kirt Kinetic Lion powered tule. Made short work of an eleven inch diameter, 11 foot log section. Note lever used to move log section repurposed as props to right of log section.

Back to truck and went home for shower, dinner and a night at the bar paid for by a friend who wound up with carbon race shoes. We are po-liti-cal refugees from Union County, like Tony F. Montana.

saturday 2/18 MT 1:31...after 8 rides at Allaire ...i'm finally starting to figure it out, but i still manage to get lost just about every time.

it's incredible to think i started riding in NJ 20+ years ago, but never rode allaire...we just stayed "local" with chimney rock, watchung and yes, cheesequake...every onece in a while we would do Hartshorne too...now, in my second life of MTB riding, which my wife likes to call my mid-life crisis, i'm so happy to have it as part of the regular rotation!

sunday 2/19 MT 1:28....so, now Hartshorne...again, in my first MTB life, 20 years ago, we would ride Hartshorne occasionally, but never the Huber woods section, which is great...and never rode the Battery Loop/Rocky Pt Trail back then...not sure if it was that it wasn't rideable, or we were just a bunch of young idiots! so, still figuring out the loop there as well, and consistently manage to get turned around...

...went back to Hartshorne to correct all of my navigational mistakes i made on sunday

so sad this great weekend is ending, but this week's weather looks awesome!

2/19/2017: 9 mile hike with my wife and 2 friends. Zero BIYF points, lots of WIYF points.:)

2/20/2017: I decided to go ride the Orange-Heritage Trailway today. This is a mostly paved MUT (former Erie RR) that runs from Monroe, NY to Goshen, NY. The paved section starts about 2 miles from my starting point. In fact those first couple miles are technically not even part of the Trailway. I only rode out to Chester. I found this "cut" that takes a straight line north to Craigsville Rd. So, I was able to change it up a little on the return. The conditions were all over the map from dry dirt in the beginning, to dry pavement to full snow cover in spots.

Kept the pics as thumbnails, cuz there were several and none that exciting, but maybe someone wants to see conditions.

Sunday 2/19 - Moving time: 3:28:55

With the super weather I decided to get some miles in. I headed south and planned to ride until I got below i.e. south of Route 78. I also planned for around 50 miles. I had initially planned to hit a bunch of the dirt roads in the Larger Cross area between Route 512, Lamington Rd. and River Rd, but I decided against it as my rear tire is getting pretty bald.

Also, my wife and I decided to meet at Starbucks about 7 miles from home, so my ride was going to be short on miles and time if I did not make the return route less than direct. I decided to add some miles and time by heading over to Bernardsville.

This was my longest ride this year, distance and time-wise, so I will request the bonus point for meeting this weekly challenge of riding our longest BIYF moving time.

This photo is of the farm when looking southwest (i think), near the triangle where Black River Rd. meets Vliettown Rd.

This is a cool stone tower-like building. I recall it is on Post Ln. in Bernardsville.
