Finally out of the road ride only rut. Back at the sourlands - a little soft on the bottom where the sun hit trails but top was perfect.

finally some single track to post on the first ride of 2017.
Passed on RV due to 5 Jones (read it in spanish), checked with @ktmrider and went to Nassau - nice and crunchy.
@alex_k, the orange jacket showed up as I was loading the bike on the car, perfect timing thanks. It is bright & warm. Had to stop after the first hill and shed one layer of fleece, glove liners and balaclava, I was boiling. Head was cold but acted as a heat sink for the rest of me.

1:something exploring

I'm locked out of strava here at work, but I emailed myself the link quickly last night: https://www.strava.com/activities/821911816

Checkout this peculiar glen I found yesterday, tucked in next to the NEC. These kind of gems and the unusual connector trails I occasionally find are the highlights of these rides. Some day I will HTFU and bomb these sketchy stairs:

Work has really picked up since the holidays, so don't fret if you're missing those w_b likes on your rides, I just haven't had the time past few days to click them all I do enjoy that too. Maybe catch up over the weekend.

Keep up the fine efforts!

how big are those tires and how did they do in thew snow? My son has a fat bike but I have to join him with 26x2.3's.

2.25 - dropped the pressure in the front to 16lbs and didn't measure the back but it was softer than the front.

the snow was powdery <1". Rode just fine. Punch climbs with roots were tricky. Lots of slip and bite motoring up little punchy climbs. Every where else was smooth.

Should be fine with this amount of snow. Just watch out for the ice that has developed since the refreeze over the past 36 hours.
