Nassau Trail conditions

Just close it off. Dave and I rode from there Thursday - super easy to park at Foran and take the roads to the kiosk parking lot.

I rode yesterday and went out that way. Ironically that field trail was almost dry, like 95%, but now with todays rain and temps dipping into the freezing range again I'm sure it will be slippery again soon.

The trails were in great shape overall though. Lots of people out enjoying them before the rain.

Now that we are in the freeze/thaw cycling the team has decided that MTBing should be limited to frozen conditions only. We’ve not dried out from recent rains, there has been heavy fog over night several nights since the last rains and the top lot is already a mess. I will try to get some stone for the top lot.

Wasn’t aware I was placing myself at risk for trademark infringement for an inter webs sign. Everyone happy now?

i don't think that is where we were going unless you got a PM -
"we" made our own at 6MR - could order order another batch if you would like.

Conditions were perfect this morning with the trails being nice and frozen! I did pretty much the entire park and didn't see much damage which is a good thing. Keeping my fingers crossed that people will respect the trails this winter.

Here's a screenshot of a photo of a sign..

Trails continue to be in great shape, BUT foran field trail is starting to get ruts. Temps were supposed to be below freezing this morning and some portions of the trail were starting to thaw. Cut my ride short and took the road back.

I'm such an idiot. Left the house at 630 to ride some frozen trails only to see this. Should have checked this thread ahead of time.

All was not lost though. My 140 travel felt like overkill but I turned my morning into a 15 mile gravel and roadie ride. In case anyone is wondering, Columbia trail and the Ken Lockwood gorge are always open and conditions are fine, if a bit sugar glazed.

Lots of gravel coated in ice on Colombia. No traction issues though.

Ken Lockwood was gorgeous as usual. Some more ice and patches of slick frozen water but totally rideable.

Checked out the Komline property on the way back too. At least I got to stretch the bike's legs on that downhill section by the falls.

So parting messages... don't be a doofus like me and show up to ride trails that are closed. And even over biking a gravel ride is still more fun than staying home.
