Nassau Trail conditions

Big tree down where marked - blocks the trail twice. Otherwise, trails are perfect

i'll bring my "hand" saw and get there early. I hope.

this should move out of the conditions thread.

Ex-co-worker who is newer to the sport. But fit AF.

Supposed to be cooler than today and you and I both rode the road (like idiots).

Would if I could but the minimal Friday work blocks me. Keep trying.

Should be there Monday.

Good conditions this morning.
Trail fairy cleared the tree that Rick noted.

tree down on Chip's trail. it is floating so had to portage the bike ;)

There are a few more trees down on Springside - but they can be ridden.
The head height one on Brogan's near the rock step-up is still there.

Trails were in good shape today. Plenty of sticks and branches. Kicked some off. Cleared small tree on Chips and another on Sidewinder. Still a tree down near the beginning of Sidewinder. Too big for my handsaw but you can go around it. Another tree on near the bottom of Rocky Ridge near Bench. Can also go around but sort of a Pita. Sorry no pic.

I, too, was at Nassau today. Came up from the Foran Field parking lot. Totally concur with @rick81721 ’s assessment — no mud, lot’s of hero dirt. Saw a downed tree near the bottom of one of the Sidewinder switchbacks. It may have been reported earlier, but it’s worth noting as it’s at a spot where you could be carrying a lot of downhill speed (sorry for poor quality photo…):

Also got a small one out of the way:

Yep saw the sidewinder tree too but that was easy to go around - at least in the direction I was going.
