My Favorite Song IN THE END Best song..

WOW man... I'm shocked they have footage of that

yeah camera's were rolling. when the scuffles started they just pointed the camera at the action.

The dead was supposed to perform at this all day free concert but when they saw the stage set up and the fights breaking out all day and said later to that.

What makes the stones so great is they could produce a fresh sound on every album to reflect the decade they were in. My favorite albums are Exhile on Main street, Beggars Banquet and Some Girls. Some girls hits home for me, I remember when that came out...I was 12yrs old. Such great lyric delivery and background vocals. Shattered takes a 50's do-op background vocal while Jagger screams in your face rock and roll. love it

Got to do the Ramble a few months ago at Levon's place in Woodstock. Awesome night. Finished by getting to play his mandolin on The Weight. He came right over to me and gave me a big hug. It was surreal.

I know this sounds crazy but its the truth... One of my closest friends growing up planted the seed for the Midnight Rambles... His name is Brian Parillo and he is really close friends with Levon... I have been to many of shows but the one that stands out the most was in '96 at the Electric Factory... We were side stage for that show and Richie Havens opened for them... This was when Danko was still alive... These picture were taken last year before a show... That is levon's dog Lucy chillin at the pond while my buddy's were smokin a bone🙂... If you ever head up there again give me a shout in advance

I've only been up there for a daytime Kids ramble . it was a lot of fun, my kids had a great time .
I'd love to get up there for a Midnight Ramble , but now that they are announcing the guests ,they sell out in seconds .

one of these days I'll get there .

looks like that dog just smoked a bone.
i love that fuckin Band. i heart the band album.

Iggy and Spence, thanks for the music and clips! get your'e yaya's out is one of my favorites (as is the lineup with Mick Taylor) which i believe was recorded at the altamont concert. If I remember right, the Dead had earlier experiences with the HA that made them change their minds when they found out they were in charge of security.

Thanks again!

Kevin

looks like it was recorded in NY (the garden) and baltimore. some album cover photos were from altamont & gimme shelter documentary.

While were on the 70's thing here is another one

For The Record.

Neil Young wrote this but gave it to Nicolette Larson, who then made this song famous. He was dating her at the time and recieved no cash for this song that i know of. Ah the things we do for love.

I'm not a huge Neil Young fan but you gotta give him props as a singer song writer, + he was in Crosby Stills Nash and Young.

I remember buying After the Gold Rush when I was a kid after hearing all this hype about it. I don't get it, that key just doesn't seem natural to me...it sounds like he got kicked in the nuts. I think the rumor at the time was he was dying of cancer. That and Mikey dying because he ate a bag of pop rocks and drank a bottle of soda had to be the 2 biggest bs stories of the 70's.

Well here is Neil's song, its a lot darker and melancholy then the chicks version. With a name like Nicolette I'd expect her to write a bubbly optimistic song.

Ramble pics

Here's a couple. The stage and his drums with my pedal steel in the background. I want to go back. Get me a gig!
