I LOVE Maiden and I'll def go see the movie, but I predict a repeat of when the Kiss movie came out (Detroit Rock City). My friends and I got advanced tickets for opening night, "This is going to be awesome there is no way it won't sell out - we HAVE to get advanced tickets!" We get into the theater and maybe 20 other people watched the movie.

I think our fandom clouds our perspective of reality when it comes to the mass appeal of anything metal related.

well the issue being that its ONLY playing at ONE TIME on ONE NIGHT ever in theatres. i cannnot miss it. hence i bought my tickets fast.

nice man... if you see me make sure to come up and say hello. ill be the chubby irish kid with the big powerslave eddie tattooed on his shin

Isn't that a bit unweildy with so many stations? I find that once you get to double digits it starts to make managing it a pain. And then how do you ever choose a station in the morning when you have 90 to select from?

Pandora does rock though, agreed on that.

Those are NOT stations, but Bookmarked Artists...I think there is a LIMIT to the # of stations.

I feel I am getting old on my bike, does that count?

indeed Pandora rocks. I find it amazing that it only plays good songs - no matter what artist station you start with.

regarding the original topic - I just started riding with my ipod.

I have a nice blend of "ride-friendly music" (not too slow..not too hard/fast ...just music with a nice ride-friendly-groove)

artists consist of the following..

Beastie Boys
Coldplay
DeLaSoul
Happy Mondays
The Doors
Janes Addiction
Silversun Pickups
The Sugarcubes
Jimi
Whiskeytown/ Ryan Adams
Wilco

in another thread I put down the Doors (as an over-rated band - and they are), but you know what? "Riders on the Storm" is a GREAT song to ride to!!! just sublime.

and the single best artist for your MTB soundtrack is Jimi Hendix hands down. I think I heard God listening to "One Rainy Wish" the other day on my bike. 🙂
