Movies Pearl Should See...

True Romance,

I think NBK and CO are movies to watch on psychedelics

Norm and I said the same thing on Tuesday about CO... I kinda wanna watch it again, but don't have any lsd haha (I jest)... I could probably put together a proper screening of Cheech and Chong Up in Smoke though haha...

Wow, i forgot all about true romance!

and i think i still have up in smoke on vhs...."you keep on knockin but you can't come in"

Beast Master scared the crap out of me for some reason. It was the first movie I ever saw in a theatre.

oh snap I didn't see you listed True Romance in plain sight (doh)... that was an all star cast for sure... the scene with Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken was great!

Walken is easily one of my top 5 favorite actors... favorite 2 movies of his (besides Pulp Fiction) were The Prophecy and Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead (which incidentally had another of my top 5 favorite actors Andy Garcia in it)...

"I am Dar of the Emorites"... "there are no more Emorites"... "thank to Jun, I am the last"...

Btw, I don't think Pearl will like any of those suggestions. Maybe:

Encino Man
Naked Gun
Better Off Dead
Airplane
Pee-Wee's Big Adventure
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure

Or maybe we are better off with:

16 Candles
Pretty in Pink
Some Kind of Wonderful
St. Elmo's Fire

Bring it on (really guilty pleasure)
Animal House
Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory
Memphis Bell
Singles
Office Space
Star Trek 2: The Wrath of Khan
The Dark Crystal
Labyrinth
Ronin
Close Encounters of the Third Kind
Killer Klowns for Outer Space

cuz this is like suggestions of movies you would tell somebody they 'gotta' see... not just stuff we liked... I'll agree with the Exorcist and the Omen but while I enjoyed Freddy and Jason, etc def not 'must see' flicks imo...

within this genre though, In the Mouth of Madness immediately jumps to mind...

will look up mouth - missed that one

yeah, guess i'm thinking representative movies of a genre - letting the must see rise out of the choices - i don't like 'the piano', 'bridges of madison county' or 'chariots of fire' - but they are good representations. and not a big fan of fantasy horror...

fast times at ridgemont high/ferris bueller are required because so much american slang came from them.

i'd go american werewolf in london for comic gore,
maybe rocky horror picture show for midnight movies (or is it a musical comedy (since pearl doesn't drink, song remains the same is out, as is flesh gordon....🙂

i'd stick fargo in there, but pulp fiction and fight club are better, kill bill fits in there somewhere. on the coen brothers, 'brother where art thou' is up there in weird, but not required as lebowski or arizona

show sensitive side to gf:
awakenings (cried....)
cocoon

mega thrillers: pick only 1
poseidon adventure
earthquake
towering inferno
china syndrome

horror:
the shining (redrum) vs cape fear
vs
blair witch project vs vertigo/birds

sci-fi?
2001
close encounters
blade runner (mentioned, and an all time great)

kid sci fi
ET
bttf
wargames (?????)

sci fi thriller:
brainstorm
invasion of body snatchers

weird
attack of killer tomato
plan 9 from outer space
the blob (and the thing, swamp thing, .......)

comedy: lots of good ones mentioned
young frankenstein

and previously mentioned....
