Marty's Fat Fifty Feb 7th

Check out the course this Sunday!

This Sunday December 28th there will be an official Marty's Fat 50 training ride leaving from Bill's Luncheonette at 8am. We will roll no later than 8:10, so don't be late! The ride will be at an exploratory pace and no one will be dropped. Ride time will be 3 plus hours.

Approx 25 miles out and back.

Anyone up for riding the full course tomorrow morning? I'd prefer to leave from the turnaround point in Schooley's Mtn. Park, ride to the Marty's shop in Morristown and come back but I don't know the first part of the course (Marty's shop to Bill's Lancheonette). Does anybody has a Garmin file for that you can post for that section?

Were gonna do a group ride from Marty's Morristown at 9am. The ride will be from Bill's and back figure 3 hours, most likely 10+ riders. I may have a file let me look and I will post it up.

Sorry, I'm not clear, are we leaving from Marty's shop in Morristown or from Bill's Luncheonette?

Clarity

I had the same question. I looked at the FB page and it said Morristown. I think he meant to say "to" Bill's instead of "from".

Thanks. Yes, that makes sense. I'll leave from Schooley's Mtn. Park at the same time and try to meet the group at Bill's more or less, but don't wait for me.

I heard a rumor...

😀

Sunday January 11 Part 2

We will also be hosting our regularly scheduled training ride starting at 9am from Bill's Luncheonette which will go to the end of the course at Schooley's mountain and back. Bill probably doesn't want a bunch of cars in his small lot so parking is available at a dirt lot on North road. It is on the same side of the road as Bill's. (402 North Road, Chester, NJ) The idea is that the 7am ride will meet up with the 9am ride at Bills and continue from there.

All riders are required to have a working light attached to their bikes with a power output of at least 250 lumens.
The course has a LOT of road crossings and we suggest that you attend our training rides so that you can familiarize yourself with those crossings. The roads will be open to traffic and we are asking riders to come to a full stop before these road crossings as a safety precaution. If we all follow the rules, then no one will be at a disadvantage, and everyone will be safer.

...and this:

:drooling::drooling:

This Sunday January 11th, we will be leading two different training rides for the Marty's Fat Fifty. The first ride will start at 7am and leave from the Morristown shop at 7am (not sharp). This ride will encompass the entire course. Ride time will be roughly 6 hours and we will keep a consistent pace. We will not wait for dropped riders as we will have an obvious time constraint due to the fact that it gets dark at 4pm!!!

I'm in for the full lap:getsome: If I make it I'll pass my record distance from last week 🙂

Will they be having any of these rides on a Sat? I would love to check the course out but not able to make Sunday rides.

The Saturday thing may be a option. I was thinking the weekend before the race doing the first half on Saturday and the 2nd half on Sunday getting a full 6 hours of fat burning fat biking in. Check Marty's site a towards the end of the month and hopefully we make it happen.

*Skinny bikes always welcome if you want to see what all the fat hype is about.
