Marty's Fat Fifty Feb 7th

Hate to break it to the organizers, but last I checked, Dismal Harmony is off limits to bikes. Given the tony area it's in and the highly sensitive neighbors, will be a problem if an entire throng of fatties rides through there. In fairness, Marty's site says the route posted is not the actual route. Let's hope Dismal is not on the actual course.

Edit: Got clarification last night. Dismal not on the course. Should be a great ride in any case.

My route was a rough out and back to see the distance. A few areas will need to be changed do to conditions, restrictions and other variables. Dismal Harmony has a go around via road so were good.

I will post a revised route tonight so riders can get a rough idea of terrain, elevation and distance, as we get closer to the event Marty's site will have the exact route.
 
Any slow pokes signing for this? I'm tempted but don't want to end up doing a 50 mile solo ride to pick the Red Lantern award 🙂

For Segundo to imply to us he's slow is like me trying to convince my kids I'm cool. 😀 Would love to do this but have a long weekend of boarding/skiing planned. Too bad, as I'm sure I'd win the Red Lantern.

I was wondering if you'd give this a shot. Too bad you can't make it. I'm sure I'll see you as soon as we get some snow though 🙂

For me the problem at the moment is endurance since I haven't been riding much (1 hr here and there). Two days ago I went out w/ a buddy of mine at night and had to cut it short (20 mi) b/c I couldn't pedal for my life. Anyway, I have 7 weeks to get myself in shape so I can at least do the distance.
 
Why is it closed to register? Says only 30 registered. Oh well missed the boat I guess.
 
I'm really interested in this. I have never done a MTB ride longer than about 30 miles or so.

I have to stay off the Hilltop Facebook page. Every time a picture of a Fatboy is posted I consider bringing back the trunk load of Christmas presents that are in my car and picking up a bike. I think my kids would understand.

arg... just tried.. said one spot left and did it right away but said it was full at end of the payment page... :cry:😀
