Lyme Disease Thread

Made the annual appointment to get tested tomorrow morning. If positive which I am getting to know all to well it will be the 6th year in a row.
Patty is on a doxy cycle now and I'm afraid I will be too. God I hate taking that doxy wish it were easier. I could say staying out of the woods would make it easier but our yard is also known to be a haven just as much. No matter how much deet I use I am constantly pulled the little fuckers off me.

I actually found a tick on me after riding 6mr last week. Not a deer tick but I haven't found one on me in years. Maybe my anti-tick stank is finally wearing off

After a recent hike, we picked some berries and apparently our pup picked up a few ticks... so we took a closer look that evening and within the hour, we found MANY more on her feet and between her toes. Fortunately, the vast majority of them were already dead or dying. Thank goodness for NexGard! We also use a mix of other Permethrin/Picaridin products. As the OP mentioned, dog owners need to be extra careful and vigilant against ticks. I suddenly feel itchy, fatigued, joint pain, dizziness... but I think that's because I'm half way through the Halter's/JORBA/MTBNJ July 31/31 Classic Event 😉

I wonder what the side effects could be? Maybe snakes will grow wings tbh idc what the side effects are I hope they drop that shit like napalm all over our state.

The biggest danger would be emergence of another antibiotic-resistant bacteria in mice but who cares?? Kill off the mice too!

A couple of years ago I had lyme it but didn't know it. I only found out I did because a day after a ride I found a tick on the back of my neck just below my hairline. I thought nothing of it but my wife insisted I get a test. When I saw the doctor about it he said I'll test you anyway but if you do have it it wouldn't be from this tick. Sure enough test came back positive for Lyme so he put me on meds for like 21 days or something and all's good. Never knew I had it nor have a clue of when I could have gotten it.
