Long Branch Half Marathon 5/3/09

Indeed!! Congrats to all those who ran on Sunday. I give you a lot of credit running in the pouring rain. Great job!

Congratulations and a great job to everyone who ran today. Pittygirl and I were out there biking the course and everyone looked like they were having a great time despite the rain. This was my first experience at the Long Branch marathon and I was impressed to see so many fans out there in the rain cheering on everyone who ran by them. It was a great time!

Justin, congrats! nice work! Beat my 1st by 30min. :getsome:

And other who ran the half or full. BRAVO!

You ppl may say a marathon is crazy but it's really something everyone should do. It's like one of the most fulfilling accomplishments anyone can partake. The pre, during, and post event stuff is great. It's like a freaking zoo and the people in the local area always come out to support and bring their fun side. Dooooooo it!

Thanks Manny.

And the part about it being a unique experience is dead-on. I'm used to H2H races where there's 400 racers total and 25 in my race. There were 10,000 racers going off together Sunday and 2,000 of them were marathoners. And there were literally thousands of people rooting us on, sprinkled every couple hundred feet along the course and a packed group of thousands along the final half mile home stretch. By the time I came into the finish, guys had been finishing for more than a half hour so the crowd had died down, so I yell at them, "Let me hear it -- it's my first!," and hundreds of people yell like crazy. Never heard that in my life.

Hey there--did you guys meet my husband and comment on the bumper sticker? While he was waiting for me he said some bike pacers said hello to him (it was a guy and a girl). He will crack up if it turns out I happened to bump into you guys online.
