Brought @Kirt out for a demo of the dark side this am.

I’m sure he will chime in with his experience, but I think I saw him smile 😊

matty...new redesigned Pivot LT

There’s some confusion about why they use the prior General race motor over the new

It’s all about total power and weight

For what it’s worth we have a large and an extra large and the old version on closeout for those interested/both with 801

I actually genuinely agree with this piece. It's fun...but it's weirdly hollow? I've been struggling to describe it and he articulates it better than I could. It's a great tool for various reasons, but I don't think it'll ever be my only bike.

Emtb is fun and a good workout but it's not a great workout and the metrics are not really transferable to other rides.

Use the ride as an easy ride, don't think of it as a regular ride it's more of a recovery, that is the mindset you have to change.

Nobody is going full gas on an emtb ride too, the trails are too rocky and it's not fun to get beat up uphill and down.

Yeah I've posted a few times about how I use my e-bike (Z2 trail rides and TM). I'm not going to sell mine or anything, just a feeling that was gnawing at me was captured in that article very well.

It CAN be just as good a workout if you lower the assistance level. But that takes some real willpower knowing what's possible.

That's basically what I do all the time. Probably 99% of the time I'm on the Heckler, the assist level is set to 3/8. It gives me just enough assist that I can keep up with my riding buddy who is much stronger than I am. It allows him to actually ride as hard as he wants without having to wait for me and cool down at the top of each climb. My legs are still cooked at the end of the ride, but according to HRM data I spend less time in the "red zone".
