well how would they contact people for you denLooks like Beacon is now available in the free version, but you have to allow Contacts access, same as the the new Road-ID update.
BS.
If you were to create a segment, say on a section of unauthorized trail, how many people need to ride it for Strava to make a leader board?
I don't allow Apps access to my Contacts. The old Road-ID let you manually enter phone or e-mail. Much better and more secure (for user) method.well how would they contact people for you den
If you were to create a segment, say on a section of unauthorized trail, how many people need to ride it for Strava to make a leader board? Would you automatically be the KOM on that section or would you need to convince 5 slower Strava users to ride it too?
Asking for a friend.
I thought the first rider gets itIf it’s a new segment they need at least one other to calculate the KOM thing for comparison
YesI thought the first rider gets it
the answer is (I figured out) is to go into Strava and disallow Garmin to sync with Strava.I've had my Garmin 530 for years now, and when I first got it, set it up for Strava.
Even did the "wireless" feature which works most of the time. It has worked every day for years.
Over the last three days my rides no longer go to Strava. They DO upload to Garmin Connect though.
I do all this on my computer, not a phone. The only way I can get my rides into Strava is by manually
uploading them by selecting the .gpx file from my plugged in Garmin 530.
Any ideas what changed and went wrong and can I get it back working like it used to?
I looked in Strava and it still says Garmin is connected.

This doesn’t effect me since I have a Fitbit but if anyone here uses an Apple Watch to collect all their fitness activities this might annoy you a bit. It means that these non apple device recorded activities don’t count towards your apple health goals anymore.
It seems this used to work fine until earlier this week and the buzz I have read so far is that Strava is not really saying anything beyond this minor update to the suport document which you have to read the fine print to interpret.
It’s not clear to me why they did this other than they don’t want to play nice with Apple at the expense of their customers even the paid subscribers don’t get this sync up anymore. Total assumption on my part here.
Just posting for info don’t know enough about it to debate it here.
- Strava will send data to Health such as route information, activity type, distance, time, and calories automatically. Please be aware that activities recorded from third-party devices (Garmin, Zwift, etc.) will not sync to Health.

I think this pretty much a non-issue. At least I have not encountered it since the above post on 3/12/22. I collect ALL my fitness activity via my Apple watch. That data can then be shared with whatever App I may use (like Strava). This doesn’t effect me since I have a Fitbit but if anyone here uses an Apple Watch to collect all their fitness activities this might annoy you a bit. Strava re enabled the 3rd party sync shortly after they disabled it.I think this pretty much a non-issue. At least I have not encountered it since the above post on 3/12/22. I collect ALL my fitness activity via my Apple watch. That data can then be shared with whatever App I may use (like Strava).
