Icebox Eleven

Ouch! Almost 4 hours of iggy-induced murder. Rubbed both heels off but enjoyed thepain. Thanx guys

So waited til 8:05 and got nobody. Had the rescue blanky and fire so figured i'd go it alone. Rototilled about 11mi of Stokes burliness, passing 1 skier and 2 dogsleds along the way. Stopped in the hemlock hollow at the end of blue mt trail and asked mr owl" how many rocks does it take to get to the middle of a Rossi 175?" He just said"Them stix are dun fool!" and flew away. Had a decent weekend and am gonna order some new boots tonite maybe. Pray for SNOW cause we goin to Waway next:getsome:

I had a dream......

....to rip 6mr on skis, and boy did I!! Thank you so much for the tour guys! I will be there much more now that i know even 6" will be sufficient cover. You can just blast this place. I almost got to the point where i could hang the back of the ski over the berms and roost snow:getsome: Just a great time! After that i took care of a firewood delivery and this mornin i've been on snow detail since 5am. I have a feelin i'm gonna be pretty sore when i come to rest:drooling:

Whaa, whaa, whaa.........

.....I can't ride my bike! Forget HTFU how bout STFU. The whining around here is pathetic lately. So ANYWAY. Shoveled for 8.5 hrs today. The plow truck was bein bitchy and it was just too nice out to listen to a snowblower so i just threw it down Amish style w my new shovel. I think i did at least a quarter mile of roads and drives, then i hit the roofs. The whole town was just driving by looking at me like i was nuts. I just figure Iggy's out there somewhere, gettin faster, gettin stronger. I'm carrying the torch for all the metal edge skiers out there so i gotta stay in shape. Oh yeah....TIME TO SKI BITCHES:getsome: Lookin to do Stokes, Waway and 6m from now til Mon. Waitin on a lil PM thing thats goin on to see what Sats ski is gonna be then I'll post a confirmed Sun trip. I checked the Wooly catepillars before i named this thread BTW, did ya think i was kidding??

Gotta work tmw, but Sunday morn is open. Hopefully u guys push it tmw so I can keep up Sunday

Ok Stokes Sat am 730. Starting from the Stony Lake lot. Go up 206 past Culvers Lake and make right into the parks main entrance. Thru gates and then straight back to a T. Kittle field will be to the left and Stony Lake will be up hill to the right. If the park hasn't fully plowed i will wait at the front and reposition us to another lot.

Stokes is just beautiful country sonz! I was done for the last 2 miles today. I just whittled my existence down to a stump with all that i've been doing lately. Tommorrow is gonna be all about food(before and after),and just slidin around lookin for new lines and trees to jib. I need a break but can't stop so we'll just go low key(Panhead??)Waway for tommorrow......I'll post it up later. Thanx for the company today Iggs

Good times today...I'm stoked.
This place is beautiful, I felt like I was in VT or upstate NY today. A very enjoyable day for me, I love this place. Over 3 hrs. of xc goodness that had a little of everything, back country, snowmobile roads, established tracks, bushwacking and downhills.

Wawayanda Sun 8-815am at boathouse. I'll be skiing over to there from the Barry Lakes parking. Couple three hours of cruisin with periodic bursts of stupidity. If you're lurking ,this is the one to show up for, cause I'm gonna be runnin a couple of cylinders down.:drooling:

Waway was good. Lots of different conditions(snowmobile, snowshoe, freshies).I was tired and off my game but i had a front seat for the 26r show. Crazy DH skills, that boy has!! I got worked on the Lookout trail and we had a 50yd hike thru waist deep snow laced w barberry and vines so i was kinda feelin eh about the whole thing until we got back to the van and the robophone said we did around 2k vert in about 10 mi!! SIIIIIICCCCCCCKK:getsome:

Skiing out of the Culvers Gap lot at Stokes. 3 to 4 hrs at 9am tommorrow......unless you need to ski with yo Grandma at HP:rofl:

Brett , i have to get an earlier start tomorrow. I am going to meet J at 6miles, but I do want to get back to Stokes...I love that place.

Now that the snow is neck deep i'm gonna recon all the DHs, so your next visit will be mo funner😀

Got Dave and Robbie today. These two are serious biznats so i spent my time at the back running tactical analysis' and energy managment scenarios. My time at the front.......well it brought antelope and cheetahs to mind:drooling: Anywho we murdered Stokes in the face even with all the trail breaking:getsome: Who wants to go where tommorrow????????????

Sun was a quick jaunt thru KVSP. Just me and the 26r so we just went wherever looking for chutes, logs , drops etc. We spent alot of time way off trail and climbed thru some of the deepest and steepest i've ever done. T'was a bit sucky though cause all the DH was a lil on the slow side so Chris couldn't go as crazy as he probably wanted to after all the climbin i put him thru. Robophone said 5ish mi and 1k vert........my ski trips are twice as murderous as my roadrides. I'm available all week so if anyone wants to kick around any of the parks around me let me know

Shoveled, chipped and cleaned up the fams houses all week. Basically slept all day Sat and then did a late DP ski w Chris.Conditions were deadly. Death glaze was everywhere but we pushed thru and i really upped my DH skills. We went off piste down the old road to "Jimmy's" tree and then stayed in the woods til we hit the stream bout 100yds upstream from the bridges. There was a mountain in front of us but i figured i could at least get the 26r to caddy corner up it since the trail was also a climb. The lil bastard dug in and deth-boned straight up the thing!! If you lost it and didn't punch thru immediatley you were as good as sliding to your death. I ended up havin to post hole a bit of the other side cause the DH was a lil too much for me. I then dragged him thru a birches/off trail hell on the way out. Was soooo happy to see my truck when i got there. Today i chipped about 1500sq ft of 4" ice off a driveway for 6 hrs:drooling: This weekend is gonna be a toss up between skis or studded bikes, we'll see.........:hmmm:

Looks like epic studded bike rides this weekend then back to the skis next weekend. Hey Jake, wanna go rip sumthin up with our Nokis??
