I fashion my crown from Quetzlcoatl’s quills

what happened to the bunnies?

I haven't been home really since Friday or whenever I saw them. But the Bergaler hung out with them on Sunday. So they are around!
Not sure if she saw them yesterday or not, forgot to ask. I hope they stick around, I like them. But that fox on the other hand... As much as I like seeing a fox being woken up by 5am is annoying. I should name the fox Cricket or something.
And last time the fox came around the chickens dumped their eggs all over and made a mess, then didn't lay eggs for a few days. Chickens are sensitive like that. when they are upset they stop laying.

That is how we ended up with rabbits .....a stray....Violet...who then needed a friend...Elvis.....

lost a climbing buddy today. really bummed. not a close friend but a guy I've shared a rope with a few times, met his daughter.
He would solo because he couldn't find a reliable climbing partner. I know the feeling but man it's not worth the risk. He always said he had it under control and it was no problem.
He solo'd past me on my first trip up arrow.
Ugh, what an unfortunate loss. I feel so bad for his family. He was really a nice guy.

what is arrow rated? i wonder what route he was on.

i totally understand the temptation to solo sometimes...hell, the other day i went up a 4th class route up the allamuchy wall when i was working on the course. I backed off near the top when the exposure turned to 5th though.

feel really bad for his family.

Arrow is a 5.7
I've seen him struggle on Directississima (5.10b ) so he wasn't crazy good, but he was just confident in the moderates.
I'd be so afraid to solo at the gunks, the ground is a boobytrap, there are bats and snakes in the rocks (poisonous ones too), giant vultures on the ledges, and peregrine falcons who hate climbers. F that.

Damn that sucks.
Sarah solos once in a while and I half expect to read a news blurb like this about her some terrible day. Or perhaps worse, a fall that 'only' causes major crippling injuries.
