Blue isn't heavily traveled as most of the year it is very wet. This is the only time of year that it's dry. It's also quad and hunter central most of the Autumn and Winter. Out and back on Blue in under an hour. I better eat my Wheaties! 👍
Keep on keeping on my friend. 🙏🚴‍♂️💪

Looked like that. Do you think it's nefarious rebels fighting their own little war or do they paint the white stripes Grey first? I thought it was weird when I first saw it.
It has been painted over in the past with some other flag, and then someone restores it to the original flag.
I think it was mentioned in the Strava High Mtn group the last time.

Any trail reports? I need to get out this weekend and HM usually drains very well. I usually stick to Circleswitch-Talledega-Camels hump.

Plenty of wind today, the single track should be primo by mid- morning and should improve as the day progresses. The fire roads will probably still be flowing water.

I've never been, what's fun?
These are two solid loops that cover the best classic stuff:

Do this one first:
https://www.trailforks.com/route/hm-suggested-loop-1-east-side-favorites/

And this one next:
https://www.trailforks.com/route/hm-suggested-loop-2-circleswitchjack-sancients/

Some trails on these routes show as closed on Trailforks but they were still well used last time I was there.

There is a fun newer trail "Dyn-O-Mite!" that combines the best parts of several older closed trails. You could mix this into either of the above routes with some rerouting.

A local guide is recommended if you don't want to constantly be checking a map. Otherwise, go with Trailforks and be prepared to get lost a bit.

Ancients (part of second track above) is amazing. Agree it’s not uncommon to get a little turned around but it’s worth a go. FS bike recommended
