Hi all. I just wanted to post an intro. I've been riding by myself or with my husband for the past few years and I'm really getting into biking. I 'd love to be able to meet up with other beginner/intermediate female riders so I don't feel like I'm holding up other riders! I mostly ride in Wawayanda and am familiar with a majority of the trails....hit me up and let's ride! 😀

Hi Yuki - I'm up for a ride at Wayway sometime. I rode it way back in '93. Bet it's changed a lot. Just getting back into biking again after a break for many years. I mostly ride Kittatinny, Stephens and rail-to-trails. My husband rides also. PM me if you want to ride.

Hi Yuki - I am pretty close to you, I also ride Waway all the time. Short notice, but would you want to go tomorrow? I usually go around 6 or 7 Am, but with hunting season on, I might be going during "normal" riding hours tomorrow. Around what time does it start being safe for a ride, I wonder.

Heidi

OH! so sorry to have missed your post Heidi! I am generally available at short notice but didn't get that one. How about next sunday? I can do Waway around 9:30 ish? Send me a message if you're interested!

Welcome Yuki!
Now that the racing is coming to a close  it would be fun to do a few rides. Post up when your going and where and I'll do my best to go.

Christina ... 😛

Yuki - is this ride a go go? I'm trying to get the weekend plans settled.

How fast are you ladies? I would ride Waway with you on Sun, maybe even Sat, but I'd hate to slow anyone down. Aww, what the heck, at least I can find my own way out of that park , so I'd meet anyone who's going.

If my chain breaks, I"m still runnin' it out of there. ;-) Heidi

I'll learn how to fix a chain by then.

No need to worry about the pace.....I'll probably have to work hard to keep up with you. Also, I'll be riding a rigid bike.....so is it terribly rocky at Wayway. Are there some more tame trails there? If not, it's ok...I'll HaB where necessary.

How about 8:45am on Sunday? You will have to lead and tell me how to even get to the start. I'll be coming up Breakneck road I suppose.

I'll PM you my mobile number.

OK, PM'd with directions and deets...

As far as the terrain at Waway it is very mixed. Some of the trails are too hard for me to even imagine riding. Other trails are tame like fire roads or jeep
roads I guess you'd call them. I can show you both. If it turns out the stuff I can ride is just way too easy and boring, I can definitely point out some challenging trails that are easy to follow for the future. Trails are really well marked there and easy to follow.

I have noticed that since the leaves are down the rocks seem much tamer. We'll see how that works out with "wet leaves" which it might be on Sun.

I am attending a memorial service on Sunday so I won't have tons of time to ride.

I'll keep an eye out for you Heidi. TGH#2 is rolling out at 8:00.

Heidi - Any interest going at 8am instead? My husband, Chris, can then ride the TGH#2 with the guys.

Panhead - The LBS determined that my shock can't be fixed. So in your opinion, should I ride Wayway with a stiff fork or a shock that doesn't work that well?

Thats a tough call. I don't know where/how you ride normally. I have to say stick with the almost fork as long as it can't catastrophicaly break. This is going to be the first time in over a year I'm riding with sus.

Panhead - I ride KV and Stephens generally with no shock or the busted shock that has no rebound. I'll just make it work somehow.

We have to drop someone off at The Spa at 7:30am. Hope that gives us enough time to roll at 8am.

Wish i could join you for this--my husband will be there w Panhead, but I need to be home w the kids. I'll be posting my own ride for that day closer to home, when the sitter can come--usually@ 10a. Prob deer park or Stephens. If anything changes w this ride-- come on mine!!! Have fun... P.
