Hartshorne Conditions?

With the scattered showers, it's hard to tell which parts of NJ got rain and which didn't. Anyone know the conditions at Hartshorne?

I'm planning to ride tomorrow morning. Will be at the Navesink lot at 6:30am. My 1st time there, so a tour would be nice, but I understand if I don't get too many takers at 6:30am 😀 Otherwise I'll just follow some GPS tracks.

I did an hour at Huber today on my CX bike, it was bone-dry. Hartshorne will be the same, unless we get some heavy showers overnight.

Hey Jimmy I am thinking of riding with you. It's my 1st time also...so we can make it an expedition if you don't get anyone to give a tour. Let me know if things change.

Just giving props to the organizer and host....but let it be known it was great meeting and riding with you also. I will see you at Allaire next week Tuesday.

This is the truth. The ride would not have been in any way as entertaining w/o starflyer

Thanks,

Went there yesterday after work. This being my first time there and third time ever I think I did fine. Walked up most of the tougher climbs (there were many). But I did hop over a sizable tree trunk and other obstacles. So I felt good by end of the evening. I was also sweating profusely by then. I had misjudged the weather and was overdressed.

I rode only one trail, Laurel Ridge, twice. Reversed direction second time. That trail was in real good condition. I think I came across just one or two puddles. Compared to Allaire (where I rode the last 2 times) this trail was certainly more challenging in terms of the climbs, but it was also broader making it easy to ride around stuff if you wanted to. It's also easier to see what's coming next if you're not familiar with the trails.

There was one other rider I passed twice, once while I was walking my bike up an impossible (IMO) climb. I'm sure he was wondering whether I had much business being there, but hey, you gotta start somewhere, right?
