Halter's Cycles -- (31/31) 2018 Edition .. RIDE 1hr a day, EVERY DAY for the month of July.. Win $100!!

Day 4 done, no exciting pictures. The squirrels in @Glenn Rides After 4 PM CST's neighborhood are a little crazy, one bounce off of my leg which was an odd experience. I happened to be looking down due to some noise my bike was making and that's the only reason I saw it. It happened so fast I probably would have no idea WTF bounced into me otherwise.

Day 4. Came across one road still flooded from the storms last night and a stop at the lake.

Day 4 - not quite halfway around the loop, tore the sidewall on a rock. Stan's sprayed everywhere and the tire emptied out in like 2 seconds. So I walked out of the woods. Checked the tire when I got back to the car and sure enough it's done. Luckily, I was just over an hour when it happened, but to be sure I left the Garmin running for another 10 minutes as I walked out of the woods and down to Forbidden Drive.

The park drained well after last night's rain, but the dew point in the woods had to be near 100 ...

Right after my tire blew out, probably from a rock like the one in the picture ...

No saving this tire ...

Day 4 - Have daughter in town for the 4th and she joined me for my ride. No pics from this morning, but; in addition to coming home yesterday to a clean bike that was left out back, we had a lighting strike on the telephone pole out front. Road is now closed due to melted surface.

It wasn’t hot enough in New Jersey so I brought the challenge to South Carolina. Got a couple laps in at the trail I learned to MTB on as a kid. Had my first race here when I was about 11 ish.

Also, explaining this challenge to my mom:

me: I have to ride an hour every day.

Mom: wow it will take you a long time to ride a full hour...

Me: yeah, about an hour.

That sinking feeling....
When you finish the ride, and you go to stop your strava, and you realize you don't have to because you fat fingered it from the start.

So we're going to have to honor-system today's ride if the judges will accept it- @jdog ?
We did one of our usual routes, typically runs around 1:20

And did get this pic during the ride, so did happen?

Anyway, HBD America,
hope you have a great day!

Ugh - I had that happen once to me last year or back in 2015. Ended up saying "eff-it" and going out for another hour... Now I try to check to make sure it's running at least once during the ride.

Day #4 with the kid again. We bought him a new bike yesterday so I didn't have to twist his arm at all this morning. He won't go in the woods like his brother so we just cruise around town exploring. Thankfully Pway has about 50 miles of bike paths and lanes throughout town so there's tons to do without going too far...

ride 3.93/31

rolled from the house down to six mile run to meet up with my local crew for the now annual red white and blue ride. surprisingly good conditions at 6mr with the exception of the “lower” blue by the steel bridge. happy independence day all!

Today sucked, cuz strava jipped me so I took the closest bike to the door when I got home and wrapped it up. On top of that I nearly got murked by a deer because of the fire works spooking them out, and while trying to eat up the clock some jerk tossed a fire work at me as I rolled passed his drive way.

There are some good things, I have been trying to buy a jogging stroller(wife can't make up her mind) and lucked out since someone put one out on the curb, scooped it now its in my garage while all the fabric bits get bagged and bombed for bugs and washed on Sunday so I can take the little guy out for runs when my wife is at work
