Going Long and Hard.

So my Fire Tower Brevet attempt got postponed because my wife had a convention that I forgot about. We have until October 31 to do it so not a big deal. I worked on my car for 2 days and got caught up on a lot of projects.

Then I rode all the E-Bikes.

Then I did the Major Taylor Wednesday ride and averaged 28mph along Canal Road for being a loser and riding e-bikes too many days.

I’m working 2 weeks straight to take a 4-day block off next week. I’m doing one of the 2 Catskills rides. I’m not sure which one. I’ll keep an eye on the temps. If it’s hot I’ll do the Bikepacking Route to stay in the woods more…

Saw you pulling down Canal Rd in Griggstown as I was headed north in the truck. Your stature was good for the front, you started the areo as everyone seemed to be in height order.

It’s too hot to go outside. I’m rescheduling any and all Catskills loops until conditions become favorable. Although I did buy the fancy new Apidura Hydration Vest to help with the long stretches of nothing.

I’m scheming up a new less hot ride for next week that I’ll let everyone know about on Wednesday if it happens. Until then, we set up a Split and Goblet Squat station at the shop so we can make our legs hurt in Air Conditioning.

Another trip with a long-ass train ride. Decided to do a 2-day jaunt down the GAP/CO. It’s mostly shaded. Has water along it the entire way. Plenty of spots to dip off trail and Bivy. I’ve made zero plans outside of a train ticket so should be fun.

may the wind be at your back, and the tubolitos stay safe in your pack.

just made that up on the fly somehow not even intentional, but it works.

What is the GAP/CO?
A long ass ride in this heat.

Still on a train. Last time I took the train west it was over 2 hours late, probably get in around 10pm. Was supposed to be well on my way by now so I’m gonna snag a room on the South Side and get a good night sleep and maybe ride straight through tomorrow?
Still on a train since 1:30 this afternoon ?!
