Going Long and Hard.

It will take a while for your appetite to come back. You actually burn a lot while healing. Make sure you try and eat even if you are not hungry, like Pixy said lots of healthy stuff.

You need fuel to rebuild....in your case maybe rocket fuel!

My norm power is like 1/2 a watt right now!! I'll have to slip on the hr strap and see how many calories I'm burning. But then again, I'm still barely eating, I think my body knows my activity level dropped and shut down somehow. I talked to Roger for a while and he gave me some idea of what my body is going through...

Zip tie your PT computer to your leg! 😀

If you look good at the pic you can see where my Scapula and Clavicle are split apart...You can also see the overlap on my Humorous head where they put my arm back together...

Things are going according to plan so far...My shoulder will be immobilized for another 2 1/2 weeks...then we'll see if my arm stays in the socket...if it does, we start PT and depending on how that goes, well you get the idea...On a good note my cut already healed so they took the staples out, that relieved some pressure...Being out in the car I could feel the ribs, ouchie still...

So yesterday was my first real venture outdoors since the incident. I went to Rite Aid to buy a new sling, I got an ergo one called "the ultimate arm sling". It's super comfy and tons more supportive than the one I got sent home in. Not to mention it's breathable. The road rash on my forearm got infected, and now it's fine.

Today were 2 more breakthroughs...

A) An actual shower, having my wife spongebath me may be fun, but a step towards independence is mo' fun😀

B) Since I've taken my sling off to change it and then again to shower, I figured I'd push it a little and put on a shirt that fits me and have my arm on the outside of it!! It took some doing but I feel a lot more like myself today, except for the no bike riding part😉

So, I can support the weight of my arm for shorter periods without pain, good sign, my Scapula is still where the majority of discomfort is coming from...I've been doing more research to better understand the anatomy of how your shoulder works...Stuff like this is awesome...From everything I've read and was told at the hospital, the Scapula is VERY hard to break:hmmm:

Stay strong. This can't be a fun time.

We are all rooting for your quick recovery.

Speak up if you need anything.

Dam son! ROBO Shoulder.
Is it titanium screws?

Hang in there, we'll all be there when you get back on the trail. Give me a call one day if you get bored. I miss you bro.

New Dream Theater stuff...

Finally made my way over to Best Buy yesterday to pick up the new Dream Theater CD & Chaos DVD...I had to hold out because Itunes doesn't have the 3CD special edition...Of course it's AMAZING!! I've been spending some time in LimeWire filling in some stuff I've missed...

-Jim.

I only buy stuff from the bands I really like...I downloaded Cobra Starship yesterday, they're silly!!

I didn't even know Limewire was still in existence. Back in the day, it was them or Kazaa. Torrents blew them all away.

How do I use said torrents?

-Jim.

You use a mac i think... so your beat...

Just kidding..

Install a program called Vuze.
Go to sites like Isohunt.com, btjunkie.com, thepiratebay.com, etc...
Search for whatever media you want and from the list of results look for stuff with alot of seeders (other peeps sharing said file - this will increase the odds of a fast DL)
Download and open the "torrent" file.
This will open it in that Vuze program and you will start connecting and downloading the media.

There are other details, but that will get you started.

Say peace out to limewire

piratebay and mininova are the best open ones. I think demonoid is open now? That one kicks ass too.
Just read the comments before downloading, people will let you know if the content is good or has some bullshit in it.

Bored...officially...

Nothing to do now but wait...I'm pretty much healed enough other than my shoulder to sleep and shower and get dressed and wander outside and whatnot...Now it's just about keeping myself occupied until the 20th when my PT will start...I'm pretty active so sitting around is NOT how I enjoy spending my time🙄

-Jim.

Torrents actually nuked IRC and Usenet. It's incredible how popular the torrents have become.

IRC is a chat protocol 😉 I think you meant all those xdcc bots. And Usenet is by far much faster and safer than torrents, most places have free ipv6 servers with awesome speeds so long as you can setup an ipv6 tunnel you should be dandy. Lots of articles on google explaining how.
